I read that jim Gavin was staying on as Dublin manager on RTÉ.ie dubh linn , but they used an interesting choice of words in their report, they reported jim Gavin has signed a new 3 year contract with Dublin , why would a man giving of his Time "freely" need a contract ?

That's a question for Rte I'm afraid.
Mind you I'm sure you read Sean Stanley's remark also in the same report.

Happy Christmas.

So the wording of a journalist with nothing to do with Jim Gavin has led you to believe he's getting paid? Do you believe this journalist has inside information and is covertly drip feeding out the truth to be picked up on by clued in members of the GAA public....

Or

Perhaps it's just an expression.. ya conspiracy theory fruit loop lol

Which one seems more logical to you chief?

How much did Micko make over the years by the way?

Perhaps you should be asking why RTE would report it like that, when the Dublin county board statement merely says that Gavin has agreed to remain as senior manager for another 3 years, and in fact acknowledges that he does so on a voluntary basis. Maybe, just maybe, someone in RTE trying to stir it a little bit?
Aside from that I just want to wish all on here a happy Xmas and best wishes for 2019.

Same with all Inter-county managers and what does a contract mean anyway in this context. But it applies to all Inter-county managers.

What manager does not sign a contract to agree to the terms and conditions of his or her time in charge?
