Congratulations Mullinalaghta

Unbelievable.

What a result. Made up for them. Gives the rest hope. Look at what can happen if you work hard and believe.

One of the biggest shocks in recent GAA history, All the odds against them.

Stop moaning and work hard and you can beat the biggest teams that people feel you've no right to even be on a pitch with.

Congratulations Mullinalaghta

So so happy for you guys.

From a Dublin perspective, that's two years in a row that the Dublin champions have faltered against Wicklow and Longford teams respectively, With us going for the 5 in a row next year, it gives Cian and Paul mannion in particular a bit of a break. Happy days.

Farming is all that is done. Honestly it's one of the tiniest places you could see. The main part of its notoriety was a extremely bad bend at the graveyard.
Well not any more.

Massive congratulations. My first time watching Mullinalaghta play, albeit online from overseas. I like their style: strong on the ball, hard-hitting off it, and most importantly, direct.

I rarely watch Gaelic football anymore, given the way the game has gone over the last decade or so. Bar the AI final, which I watch more out of ritual than anything else, I wouldn't cross the road to watch the rubbish to which the game has devolved.

However, I'd gladly go watch Mullinalaghta in the morning!

No disrespect to Crokes, but I am delighted for Mullinalaghta and Longford football.

Heartiest congratulations to Mullinalaghta. Massive heart and never say die performance that does indeed show the little guy can still have their day. Good luck going forward against Crokes. Well done to all involved.

Nothing better in GAA than the underdog having their day in the sun. Congrats Mullinalaghta and enjoy the celebrations

Hardly Happy Days for Kilmacud and Dublin club football in general.. but ya for you I'm sure you are delighted. Great result for the underdogs

Great result for Mullinalachta, and for football generally. If you are well organised, and have belief anything is possible. Congratulations to the new champions.

Great for Mullinalaghta and for our fellow Cavan man Mickey Graham.

Brilliant to see that the club game hasn't been ruined by financial doping like the intercounty game.

Yea that's exactly what I said, I go to a lot of Dublin club games including the last 4 Crokes games before today, I just like football, but they aren't my club. I care more about Dublin doing 5 ina row than Crokes winning Leinster. Doesn't mean I don't care about Dublin club football, they've done alright in the clubs lately in fairness. Wasn't long ago that ballymun and Vincent's where winning it. Think club football in Dublin is still in good health but getting Cian and Paul a bit of a break before next year is good so yea as I said and as you said I'm happy about that. Obviously Crokes people won't agree but I'm not posting as a Crokes person I'm posting my opinion on it. Delighted Crokes are out as it benefits two star Dublin players down the line. Brilliant result for the underdogs

Amazing. Belief, hard work and tactics and anything is possible.

Can you picture their first training session at the start of the year? Can you imagine them long runs? Can you Imagine travelling back to your own community twice a week because there's no employment in your local area?

Incredible

Brilliant win and a deserved one

Huge Congratulations. Enjoy the celebrations. Longford football has had a very encouraging 2018 and now it has a major piece of silverware.

I agree Wayno

Selfishly.. As a Dubs fan it's a boost to have PM and COS rested now as both are carrying hammer troubles. Crokes club members (all 85,000 of them) will be disappointed but it's their best year in quite a while and they'll be proud of their club.

Well done Mullinalaghta, better team all day for me.

No offence to Kilmacud but that was brilliant to see!

Well done indeed Mullinalaghta. Strong direct team, held their shape for 95% of the game and were rewarded in the end, some refs may not have given that penalty to the underdog but it was a penalty and was superbly put away by Rodgers.

Disappointed with the discipline shown by O'Sullivan and Mannion. But again delighted for MULLINALAGHTA, there won't be a beast fed in Longford till midday Monday.

Well done to Mullinalaght and a big boost to all small clubs throughout the country. Just shows what a team can do if you have players with talent who can play as a team, have the confidence to be able to man-mark and tackle all over the pitch- none of this nonsense that we see too often in football where guys stand off players marking space. I wish them the best of luck going forward in the rest of the championship.
