I was at the Laois Meath game, and while I was unsure about the new rules, it actually gave to a better spectacle, now ok Meath seemed to have done their homework on it while Laois seemed to not know the first thing about it, but it meant a open game even though the conditions were horrendous. Has it won me over yet? Not entirely, but I am less unsure after what I seen.

From what I saw, the handpass rule is actually going to have a negative effect. Carlow V Westmeath at the weekend on several occasions going forward both teams made handpasses and when there was no opening there was a big long footpass backwards up the field and the ball recycled again when another 1 or 2 handpasses may have created openings for scoring opportunities. I feel this will actually result in lower scoring games.
