Replying To Canuck:  "Often I ask friends why they do not engage in some of the forum discussions. The answer is why would we draw that on ourselves we already know there are so many haters of us out there. Your post demonstrations the attitude towards Waterford. Even if we had won last years All-Ireland you would still omit us from the top flight. Are you aware of how many semi-finals we have contested since the turn of the century. Probable not because your bias clouds your vision"
To be fair football is the only sport in the barony of tirawly, to us up there hurling is a world away. Give the lad a break I'm sure it wasn't intentional.

It is sad if that is the story on hurling in Mayo. I know Mayo hurling and it deserves more credit. However I also know Mayo football and would never say they belong in the 4th division.

really decent gaa people can accept that a referee is doing his best,is amateur,is human but above all is NEUTRAL"
If we have 'really decent GAA people', then,of course, we must have GAA people who are not 'decent'. Any idea of the percentage break-down?

Then there was a couple of flashers back around ten years ago... They'd be the 'indecent' GAA people.

CANUCK my good man. Apologies if you feel I slighted the great county of Waterford.
My hurling revamp was a mere afterthought with not a lot of thought put in to it.
I left out Waterford as they finished bottom of the Munster group this year so would be part of the combined Munster team (with Kerry) next season. They would no doubt be promoted the following season and one of the other 4 would then replace them in the Combined Munster team.
You might feel this is unfair to Waterford but is it fair to exclude the best Kerry players from getting an opportunity to play McCarthy cup hurling if they are good enough?
The purpose of the GAA is to promote the games and provide players the chance to play the sport. I would contend that they should also provide player and the opportunity to play at the highest level possible and that their should be no county/club/player be given a position of privilege over another.

How do you think that would go if it was attempted to apply to Cork or Tipp ? Good luck with that. To add insult to injury Waterford finished last of the Munster team based on a phantom goal and no home games. So talk about privilege ? There are many ways to include the best players from Kerry beside removing one of the most consistent top teams over the last ten years. If you compare the number of clubs in Cork with Waterford, Cork should have 3 county teams.
