Replying To mhunicean_abu:  "Based on recent performances with us, the appointment of C Lane for this game has given Galway license to maul McManus et al. at will.
We need to proceed accordingly"
We'll have to fly in a few CIA agents to keep an eye on him. You'd never know what those pesky Galway backs might do to poor Conor.

Replying To Workingclass:  "I see Kevin Walsh is priming the pump already by crying over the fouls on Comer. It's the defenders who need protection from his favourite trick of grabbing an arm and falling down to try and get a free or peno. That crack is one degree lower than a plain old dive."
Ye would know ll about it.. Big Aidan diving in the box to cheat a peno against Fermanagh..

My humblest apologies to those Galway gaels whom I may have offended. I should of course quality my previous post by including "should they chose to do it"
Forgive me for being so presumptuous

Galway players will have the thought of injury in there head and will not go full tilt at this and most players would be the same.

I don't care who does it , it is an attempt to hoodwink the ref, and worse than a straightforward foul . Hang them all!!!
:)

Much better. We'll have the red carpet ready on Saturday evening for our Farney brethren.

If we really want to stamp out the diving, grabbing arms etc which is nearly impossible for refs to catch in real time just bring in a TMO or a review panel and put match bans in place. Every team is at it and it adds nothing to the game and as already said is plain cheating

True, but when do you ever see anything done right in this country?

I think I speak for everyone where I hope I get to see a good entertaining game which im sure itll be. However in the last 5 mins of the game with a skyscraper equalizer of a point by McManus I for one will look forward to the cod-ogery that will take place when we will be some keep ball antics reminiscent of the group stages in that foreign sport soccer.

The fallout if that happens will be epic and I will be cheering both sets of players to do so if it happens

Here's hoping to a fair game. May the west stay awake and play honest man to man football.

There wasn't total agreement about the red card for Daniel Flynn when he threw a wild swinging arm off the ball, I very much doubt there would be much agreement about most grabbing arm incidents when often both players are fouling.

We'll be fair anyhow. Certain media outlets trying to concoct something out of nothing.

@ Soma, I agree it won't always be clear cut but if players know it'll be reviewed and match bans follow they will be a lot less likely to try things on. IMO D Flynn attempted to strike so a red card my issue would be nothing done about the lead up to it

You have really got to drop your complaining, yes there was holding and dragging but the Galway full forward line experienced way more abuse than the Kildare one. In fact before the game wven started the Kildate number 7 was giving Dhane Walsh some unbelievable abuse. Your number 10 should have gine for striking Peter Cooke and number 19 for the numerous digs on Varley.

What complaining? I said our man getting the line was correct, would you be complaining if the full back was booked?
