Donegal V Tyrone

Has all the makings of an epic encounter, Tyrone are going really well while Donegal have the advantage of playing in Ballybofey. Sellout guaranteed.

It will be a tight affair but Murphys form at the moment and our record in bofey will leave us with it all to do. Can't wait though, should be a cracker

I really fear for us in this one. Tyrone are set up prefect to play us. Every team that has ran at us this year has scored goals. They ran through us with ease in the league and I don't think we've improved defensively enough since. With Paddy and now possibly Ban out we'll be underdogs.
Tyrone are further down the road with their development than us. It will take us another year or two to be at that level.
Hoping it's a good competitive game but honestly don't think we're ready yet to beat this Tyrone team.

Considering how Tyrone demolished Roscommon and ok we beat them this evening but it was no demolition job, Dublin beat us in 3rd gear and they had to dig deep to get past Tyrone, weighing that all up and considering we are without Paddy and God knows who else after today it will take a mighty effort to beat Tyrone, the game being in Ballybofey is a help to us but I think this will be a bridge too far for this young Donegal side unfortunately,
still though we'd have taken an Ulster title and an All Ireland quarter final in Ballybofey at the start of the campaign, it's been a very good year and good start for Declan whatever happens, may the best team win and it should be a great match.

Judged on their form against us I believe that Tyrone will come out on top. It's a pity if Gallagher is out of the game as he brings a lot of dynamism to Donegal's play. Tyrone's McNamee came off injured today and would be a huge loss to their full-back line if he is ruled out of the game.

Donegal hot favourites, haven't been beat in B'bofey as donkeys years, mad to get at us, no team they would rather beat than Tyrone and to put us out of the Championship, well that's better than the All-Ireland! The home venue is a 3 point start at the very least Donegal expect to won, Tyrone have it all to do, Big Murphy and the boys waiting on this all year! Definitely hot favourites, just calling it as I see it, put it this way it's not a ground you would want to be going to, needing an away win!

bitta cute hoorism here?? anyway think it's just about 50/50 to be, tyrone have put in a few very good performances over the past few weeks and seen to be getting a bit of momentum about them but mixing in both teams records in ballybofey its sure to be an intriguing encounter although if we are without Eoghan ban who i think could easily get an all star Tyrone will have too much for us.

Hard to look past Tyrone this year based on results so far. Our younger lads will be that bit stronger next year and with Paddy Mc B, Eoghan Ban, Eoin Mc Hugh, Michael Carroll, Jason Mc Gee back next year our options will increase further. A great year by Donegal. An Ulster medal and great experience in the Super 8s

I agree home advantage will help but I think Tyrone are a bit further down the line than us, I'd say most neutrals and you'll likely see the pundits and bookies will have Tyrone as favourites to make the All Ireland semi final, imagine it could be against Monaghan if things go well for them tomorrow, that would be some craic whichever of us gets them.
heart says Donegal but head says Tyrone for this one, if we still had Paddy Mac it would even things up a wee bit more but Tyrone will be most peoples favourites.

Definitely not trying to be cute, just honest, We are up against it in B'bofey for the reasons I've given. I know it's off track but realistically would either team beat Dublin anyway if they met them again?

The amount of cute hoorism going on here would make a Kerryman blush!

Home advantage is huge for Donegal & if we had Patrick I would have us as favourites but the early word on Ban isnt great & if Tyrone put shackles on Murph it could be a long afternoon against a Tyrone team who really seem to be in a good place at the moment

As other posters have said Donegal folk already see this year as a success, there are a number of injured players to come back next year & a win in Ballybofey would be the icing on the cake but Patrick's loss might swing it against us.

What is the rumour on Ban. Didn't look like a dislocation but could be ligaments from what I seen?

Think murphy will be needed more around the middle against tyrone which is a real pity because he was a joy to watch in full forward yesterday, so with him out the middle and paddy mac missing i would have to go for a tyrone win! It'll be a close 1 either way but!

It's an elbow problem looked to be in a lot of pain. Having it looked at today I hear. Hopefully he'll be ok. Going to be tough against this tyrone team. A team that held there own against the dubs. Very intersting leaving the ground yday. People saying that murphy should be kept at full forward now. I think it's a horses for courses situation I was pretty sure myself that Murphy would spend most of the game at full forward yesterday because Roscommon are weak in defence and the management knew it was the time to unleash murphy and Mc niallas. But Tyrone is a totally different ball game. They are so well organized and with colm kavanagh a very effective sweeper it could make getting good ball in very hard. But I would still hope to see him play there with Niallas because they both are excellent fielders and can take a score. I think this game could sell out and Tyrone can be guaranteed that they will get there usual friendly donegal welcome as we are noted for. Have a lot of good friends in Tyrone good gaa people so here's hoping for a great game.

Funny that over on the Dublin v Tyrone thread you said you fancied Tyrone to beat Donegal, you'd need to brush up on your cute hoorism skills mo chara.
