Woooooooooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooooooooo what a day on sunday

Was in tears at full time so so happy so emotional so proud, so relieved, ive come out of that ground so many times traumatised and heartbroken, it was so good to get the win.

superb comeback thought when fitzgibbon put them 6 up thought we were gone but the composure the boys showed was incredible. Played really well from some super performances all over the park , great saves from nickie, superb footwork from greame mulcahy, hegarty and gillane were immense, and our bench gave us real impetus and drove us home. Massive 2-7 from the bench, The composure shown at the end was incredible. The support was incredible 30000 plus people out of a population of 200k is incredible

Was delighted for the players after every game this years they have stayed out for ages on pitch signing stuff, been doing this after senior and 21 games for years , really decent bunch of lads.
To think 5 of that panel played in munster intermediate final loss to clare in 2016 mike casey, gillane , pat ryan, willodonoghue peter casey, Of course you would have to feel for the cork lads management and excellent side with excellent support

We got a mammoth task ahead in the final both galway and clare are excellent sides, but we are there and we gotta shot. The ticket hunt has started , transport is booked, ticket application into the club the phone calls made, the flags are out , the supporters will leave the players alone to do their work and on final day we will do our bit.

congratulations and thank you to john declan players coaches staff sponsors and county board. Best of luck in the final, it would mean the world to us to win it.

Yeah fair point, I was just thinking along the lines of beating the big 3 as well as 2 other of the elite counties.

Was just thinking about our B team with all the talk of it. Of my head it could be something like..

Hennessy
Condon McCarthy Hickey
Grimes O'laughlin Ronan Lynch
Brown O'donoghue
Dowling Downes Riedy
Casey Nash Pat Ryan

Has any country ever had a B team with that many names and pedigree and without any of them way past their best? The full back line looks old enough but they're only around 30 each. Theres even more players to make a decent C team, the likes of Barry Murphy and Colin Ryan etc.

After we won the league from 1B there talk was the same talk about the strength of the bench and a B team. However reality struck in quickly when you play the big boys constantly. Ye have a great team but Cork would have rubbed your B them off the face of the earth on Sunday. A s would Galway, Clare, Kilkenny, Wexford and yes an A team Waterford. Your other point about Waterford being in the top 5 is debatable. After all the B team was beaten by 3 points by Cork. Drew with Tipp (not really) and for sure walloped by a great Limerick team. Next year who knows? Good luck to ye in the final.

oh god ya, I'm not for a second saying that that team would beat any of the big teams. just saying individually theres lots of options there.

Hate all this bull bout a and b teams for the love of god...
To beat clare or galway in the final will be so hard to do we're far from the finished article and imo have serious issues in certain positions on field having said all that we are a fine side and are there on merit. Galway and clare will bring things to the final that cork couldnt but also cork brought some play in the semi that the other 2 cant. all in all whoever gets to the final it'll prob be 50 50

Never said having a strong B team meant we will cake walk the final. Just making the point of a good bench which could be one of many components that could hopefully see us over the line.

What I found utterly incredible last Sunday was that Meyler and his assistants saw fit to bring two clearly injured men back on last Sunday. How must the fully fit subs, who trained all the year, feel.

What senior pedigree have they?

LRH, well while believing this question is a red herring and I would utterly agree that we are not the only county with good subs, I would however say, only in response to your comment, that seven of that group came on in Croke Park last Sunday and they all performed well. I would also be confident that Ritchie Mc, Downes and Brown at least would all acquit themselves well if needed.. Contrast that with the subs bench of mighty Cork. Their management felt they had to bring on injured players. in preference to other fully fit subs. What an amazing turnabout when you consider the huge extent to which the game is played and loved in the rebel county.
