Looking forward to a great atmosphere on Sunday in Croke Park. 2 of the best suported teams in any code in the country expected to bring up to 70000 supporters.
After coming out on the wrong side of the result in the last few visits we will be hoping to experience again the great joy of the 2007 win over Waterford."
Cork I'd call the highest populated hurling county rather than the best supporters.

Limerick like my own county has a big bandwagon brigade, we had 40 or 45k at last years leinster final but at the clare game 2ks ago we only had about 3k.

anyway i shouldnt have posted that,i hate when a match thread is dragged off topic, good luck to both.

for what it is worth,if limerick play like they did v kilkenny they will win,if they play like the did v clare they will be bet out the gate.

How many of that 35k were from Limerick though haha... obviously the majority would be cork at a home game.

Also only 18k for your do or die match with KK.... not great numbers. However I would imagine you, like I, and the majority of posters here go to all the matches.

The semi finals are looking very good in terms of turn out... 75k sold online for Cork Limerick and 62k for Galway Clare.

Around 10k. So not too bad for 7pm on a Saturday night.

Cork have got this far despite some players not performing, and they have faltered at the semi-final stage in the past. The team looks much stronger and settled than previous years. Am looking for a big performance from Conor Lehane, and if Pat Horgan and Seamus Harnedy maintain current form, we should score enough to win.
Colm Spillane performed well at full back against Clare, and he may well continue there with Damien Cahalane moving to corner back.Sean O' Donoghue completes back line. I would expect to see Christopher Joyce at centre back, flanked by Coleman and Ellis. Midfield pairing of Darragh Fitzgibbon and Bill Cooper should at least break even.
Both Limerick and Cork are young teams, will clash for many years to come, and here is to a close, sporting contest.

It's a very unique end to the championship in terms of the teams left. No kilkenny and no tipp.

Galway all Ireland champs vs clare who are back in croker for the first time since winning Liam. You'd expect 60k between them at least including neutrals. They were very badly supported in their last semi final in 2013 but surely that will change this year.

Cork v limerick say no more. Is this their first semi final ever between them? Limerick to bring 35k and cork 40k. Surely with neutrals they will match the tipp v cork semi a few years back of around 80k. After 15 years of kilkenny dominance hopefully hurling folk appreciate the change times and come out in their droves.

starting to have a ring of the 90s off it,limerick and clare back in semi finals.

but make no bones about it,tipp and kilkenny will be back so these counties need to win while they are down.

That's some chip you have on your shoulder. Your first statement regarding support for Cork and Limerick shows up your ignorance and lack of knowledge. Just sit back and enjoy the fantastic hurling on the way this weekend and keep your bitterness to yourself.

I honestly couldn't care less if there are 10 or 100,000 at any Limerick game. It is just a pleasure to watch the green & white in action.

I heard that Rockies but could be all rumour.

If true, the man is a serious loss to Cork, savage work rate.

All teams will be "back". That's the nature of sport, it's cyclical. Tipp have never really dominated in decade's anyway, and Kilkenny will never again be the force the were when they won something like 9 in 10 All-Irelands, well at least not for a long long long time. No they are back in the pack and they'll be staying there, and if anything, we are now entering into an era where Cork will be the dominating force of the "big 3" for some time. They are still on an upward trajectory.

Limerick to win by 6 or 7 points there that good easily best team in the championship and my tip now to lift Liam.
Nothing phases them and their bench reminds me of Kilkenny in their prime.
It's actually scary Limerick could win 2 of the next 3-4 all Irelands.
I can't see Cork troubling them Croke Park will suit this Limerick team and they are mighty dangerous when given lots of space.

Jesus wept, cant believe i just read that. Limerick are a good team but 6 or 7 better than Cork, have a word. Mighty dangerous when given lots of space sure most teams would be. Do watch hurling at all?

A Meath man is able to predict the future of hurling.
Well I have heard it all now!
God give me strength please on a Friday night.

Now now don't be disrespectful. A Meath man's opinion may be as good as anyone else. They play hurling in Meath and work as hard as anyone else to improve their standings. It would be a sad day for hurling if everyone other than the elites quit. Good luck to all the teams at the weekend but only two can win.
