Just like Limerick?

Not trying to have a dig but I expected much more from them today. Wexford were poor - Clare were average. Clare have a big jump to make to even challenge Galway! LohansRedHelmet (Clare) - Posts: 2479 - 14/07/2018 18:10:05 2121631 Link 0 |

We will, and I'm not confident of a Kilkenny win. The bookies have Limerick as slight favourites and I'd agree with that. Whatever, I'm looking forward to what should be a great game of hurling,

Real fans support were ever they play, maybe if wexford had more support there it would have spurred them on, people these daysjust seem moan about everything

No! Fans (real?) know when the powers that be are taking them for a ride. You refuse to accept the issue at hand, and instead choose to insult Wexford fans. Here's a comment from someonr else on this mater. from another similar topic. I think the big problem Cork GAA have is its an absolute nightmare to get in and out of Pairc Ui Chaoimh because of the road layout and the restrictions in correcting this with the River Lee. Cork folk, will a new bridge be put in as part of the redevelopment of the Port of Cork? I think it is in the plans. Wexford and Waterford fans hate travelling to Cork because from Dunkittle onwards it is a nightmare. Not much fun for Tipp fans either. There is plans on two new bridges down there for a revamp of the area, but that plans been there for a while not sure when it will be built, any theres a link here to show what the plan is PyatPree (Cork) - Posts: 376 - 14/07/2018 22:08:25 2121807 Link 0 |
Didn't live to expectations; Clare have a great chance against Galway but I think Galway will beat them at the moment. Wexford shouldn't be playing the way they are, some great forwards yet they are too focused on defending, change of tactics vitally needed. oakleafersir (Derry) - Posts: 808 - 14/07/2018 22:18:21 2121817 Link 0 |
I remember going to mayo v cork last year in the gealic grounds, tere was about 200 cork supporters tere and 12000 mayo. If Cork had proper support, it would of helped them over the line, instead mayo had it. At least Wexford have an excuse for not turning up in cork at 3 o clock on a Saturday. Sing when your winning, Cork style.

Cork GAA has a lot more problems then whether people like going to Pairc Uí Chaoimh or not.. bennybunny (Cork) - Posts: 3917 - 14/07/2018 22:58:20 2121841 Link 0 |
I think Lee Chin should be played at midfield. Wexford do not play to their potential and the game was lost at midfield. Wexford are a strong physical team, excellent hurlers in key positions, but playing Lee Chin at full forward is crazy. Clare will give Galway a rattle, but doubt if they are good enough to beat them. That is an accurate statement. If Cork football was better supported, the team might play with more conviction. As it is now, there is very little interest amongst the Cork sporting public in football. West Cork remains a stronghold, maybe league intercounty games should be moved to Clonakilty. In Cork City...hurling, soccer and rugby are regarded ahead if gaelic football. Rockies (Cork) - Posts: 947 - 15/07/2018 01:38:00 2121893 Link 0 |
I'm at a complete loss. Why is Saturday at 3pm such a daunting time for supporters to show up at a game?? What am I missing? I have heard the day and time cited as a problem numerous times. I don't get it. bronxirish (USA) - Posts: 17 - 15/07/2018 03:37:08 2121909 Link 0 |
Clonakilty.. 100% agree with you. There would be way better atmosphere. I would give some to Mallow as well for North Cork football supporters.. North West Cork... Duhallow.

Why did Davy have to remove Chin from centre back where he was supreme and could drive Wexford on? Davy can never anything good alone. He did the same with Ken McGrath when he was with Waterford. Of course Davy knows best. Midleton (Cork) - Posts: 643 - 15/07/2018 13:36:51 2122058 Link 0 |
i guarantee you if cork were playing in wexford at 3 o'clock on a Saturday not many from cork would to either

I have flown over from England for all the Galway games this year, bar the replay with KK. Im sure you all realise flights and hotels etc etc aren't cheap. Bottom line is, if you wont hop in your car in Ireland and drive a couple of hours for a championship knockout match, you aren't really that invested in your team. Yes, yesterday was a long way and not an ideal venue, certainly for wexford but If you want to be there, you get there no matter what, and if you aren't that fussed, you make excuses.
