Replying To KildareKelly:  "Eddie the Exile, from a Kildare perspective I have a feeling that Mick O'Grady will be the one tasked with marking McManus rather than Peter Kelly....

Can't wait for this now. Should be a cracking game."
One of the cribbins could be put on him... seen them do man marking jobs in club games and they were exceptional.

Looking forward to this game , my favorite current player mc manus , with a young future lad to watch McCarty up against my second favorite player Flynn, just to get the reptile s off the back I will shout for Kildare to show Leinster still has a pulse, if they both play at their absolute best I think it's Monaghan, but that's far from guaranteed, so Kildare by two points

Looking forward to this game myself. While I hope that Kildare can win, I think Monaghan may have too much up front. But we will wait and see

Can everyone stop talking silly season stuff. Monaghan will win this by 4/5 points. Kildare beat a very tired Mayo and a team with there best players missing.

So it seems you know where all posters are from. You should concentrate on the Kildare folk. By the way are you really a farney fan or just here to try and boot the confidence of the Kildare folk.

I dread this game tomorrow.
Firstly we won't win if Kieran Hughes doesn't start.
Secondly I got a bad feeling reading Dick saying Kildare would come last in the group.
They were largely unlucky in the league, we beat them in round 2 by 1 point, had they won by a point it could have been us that came under pressure to stay up.
It be a point or 2 either way and worth a 5er bet on a draw

I wish people would stop reading so much into the league game as if it will have any impact on today's game. I'm not sure what Kildare's team was like that day, but Monaghan fielded a fairly experimental team with a number of newcomers, and a good few key men didn't start.

It will likely be tight today, but saying Kildare could have got a result in the league doesn't mean a whole lot now.

Great goal from Flynn but he should have had another. He always seems to blast it high gives the keeper a chance.

What was that from Flynn. Tired looking attempt that was so easy to block down and Monaghan go up the other end and score.
Kildare don't look too bothered by Croke Park though.

Neither team looked great even if monaghan get out of the group hard to see them getting by either dubs or Tyrone who I expect will come out of the other group

They couldn't have been drawn against Kildare under the old format last year as both teams came through the qualifiers, No? 50% chance they would've drawn Dublin/Kerry and would be out in the last 8 again. 2 bits of the cherry now for the last 4.

My home county must be delighted watching this match.... Kerry are nó big shakes at all. They're not used to playing competitive football at this time of year.

You can guarantee they'll be coming to Clones with something to prove though and having gotten a kick up the ass. Clones will be rocking next week.

Delighted with another win in Croke Park and we were the best team, Karl O Connell as good a half back as there is in the country, but a little bit frustrated with some of the old failings showing them selves again. Indiscipline cost us two scores where the ball was moved forward for backchat, Shut the f*** up, and a black card (didn't see it). Mc Manus taking a long range free that was made for Beggan, and a concession of missed chances, all this kept them in the game and made for a nervy finish.
We won't get away with it next week as Kerry are in knockout territory and will give it everything they have, there is more in us though
