I dread this game tomorrow. Firstly we won't win if Kieran Hughes doesn't start. Secondly I got a bad feeling reading Dick saying Kildare would come last in the group. They were largely unlucky in the league, we beat them in round 2 by 1 point, had they won by a point it could have been us that came under pressure to stay up. I'm not sure what Kildare's team was like that day, but Monaghan fielded a fairly experimental team with a number of newcomers, and a good few key men didn't start. Delighted with another win in Croke Park and we were the best team, Karl O Connell as good a half back as there is in the country, but a little bit frustrated with some of the old failings showing them selves again. Indiscipline cost us two scores where the ball was moved forward for backchat, Shut the f* up, and a black card (didn't see it). Mc Manus taking a long range free that was made for Beggan, and a concession of missed chances, all this kept them in the game and made for a nervy finish.
