Replying To Tim_NicebutDim:  "If the 2 lads were not the culprits in the row then I've no problem with them getting off. But surely then it works both ways and retrospective bans were needed for those who could b seem. Sure mckiernan started the whole thing and nothing. Not a great week 4 the gas. . Again"
Agree the fellas caught on camera need something done, however not sure what you mean by McKiernan. He was goaded all day, and he gave that back after the final play. Are we gonna ban players for shouting and making gestures? Nonsense. The players who need to be banned are those shown to have thrown punches and headbutts, which are evident in the video. Some Down players don't come off very well there...

It won't matter much as Tyrone will win the game easily enough. Has the Kildare saga saved Cavan!? Or is there geniune bias towards certain counties. When a mellee or incident involves a small number of counties it is a free for all, but when those enemies of the media are not involved it's quickly pushed under the carpet. The incident at the Cavan V Down game was the worst incident this year but the CCCC/media appear to have had little interest in it. Compare this to an U20 match which got intense national media coverage over the course of a week. Also meetings after meetings to ensure the maximum punishments were handed out. Cavan have history but probably don't fit into a media agenda so have basically been told don't be worrying. As I said it won't matter as Tyrone will win by 6plus.

Against Down its wasn't pretty and played in a sweltering heat. Saturday will be no different and i expect it to be close with teams ultra defensive and energy sapping considering the weather.

Cavan tried to play the same game against Down as they did against Wicklow. One team fell for it the other didn't. Other than the fluke goal we got we didn't get inside. I expect tactics to slightly change in this regards. I just hope Cavan fully push up on the Tyrone kickout...

I'm gonna be Bold, Cavan by 2 (Aet) :0

Hard to know where Cavan heads are at but if they turn up on Saturday and put in a performance they have every chance of beating Tyrone.

Not one Cavan player threw a box.

Other incidents also involved no punches being thrown but pulling and dragging - this didn't stop the media and others making it headline news. The Cavan/Down incident was still the worst this year and doesn't look good for either counties. I'm just surprised and wonder why Cavan have a full compliment of players available tomorrow, not that it's going to matter.

Don't think that having the 2 players back will be much of an advantage to Cavan. After all, they were both on the pitch against Down and did little to help the team deliver a convincing performance.

This focus on our disciplinary record will put the pressure on now and no better team than Tyrone to exploit that. The ref will be listening to it all day from Cavanagh and co.

Cavan coming into this, not looking overawed.

I see DC has read the GAA's memo.

Only 1 team allowed to tackle (and hit late) here.

Foregone conclusion, Kildare can expect the same I feel.

Tyrone stagger on!
The lack of self confidence illustrated by their failure to take 3 clear goal chances despite good lead up play generally shows the flaw that will be their destruction Their bad conversation rate has disabled them for the past 5 years and while they have the players with the raw talent to solve this they do NOT have the self belief required.

oh sweet lord cjx, will you give it up?...this is a young group of players fighting their way through to the last 12 teams standing..it's been an admirable campaign so far, and while we certainly don't expect to win an all-ireland it's great to see this young team get the necessary experience...confidence and belief is not an issue believe me

Thought Tyrone looked the much better team but just didn't kill the game off. Cavan played right into the hands of Tyrone with a slow build and allowing themselves to be turned over. It was a very hot day so we have to have some sympathy for the players but it had the intensity of a training game. Cavan just dont seem to believe in themselves, special mention for the brilliant Geroid McKeirnon.

There seems to be something missing from Tyrone's play at the moment and its hard to figure out. If they can get through the round 4 qualifier next week, maybe a big win in the Super 8s could reignite their season but they need something soon otherwise the season will drift away.

Tyrone just did enough to get the job done and into the draw this morning. Next Saturday will tell the truth about Tyrone. They're either just doing enough to get over the line or they're on the road to a trouncing in the super 8s. We will know next Saturday evening which is the real Tyrone

Yeah agree with everything you say.
Kind of waiting for Tyrone to burst into life with a good 70 min performance but that's not happening. Fits and starts this season.
Hopefully we beat Cork but that's no guarantee. Then Dublin and Donegal and Ros/Armagh. Long road ahead
