Secondary Schools Finals

(Oldest Posts First)

Both finals are live on TG4 YouTube channel today from 2pm.

The Hogan Cup last came to Mayo in 1977 when the famed St.Colmans College Claremorris team took the cup home.

The Paddy Drummond Cup will hopefully stay west with Ballinrobe CC taking the title in 2017.

Best of luck to Rice College Westport in the "A" Hogan Cup final v Lurgan and St.Nathys, Ballaghaderreen in their "B" final against Holy Trinity Cookstown.

Ironically St Eunans of Letterkenny should probably have beaten Holy Trinity twice. Definitely the first day and probably the 2nd when they conceded 2 goals, one from a pen and the other a soft goal from an error of misjudgment. Holy Tinity followed this with 2 emphatic wins in the semi final and final. Well done to all the teams involved and the victors. One thing about underage teams from Tyrone (Holy Trinity) that you must admire is that when they come outta Ulster they certainly know how to add a national title to their provincial win.

Hard luck to St Nathys yesterday unfortunately they weren't at the level of CBS in 2011 who was the last Roscommon school to win the B All Ireland
