With all due respect the Master Plan in Galway is always a farce. While my own county isnt great, galway is a lot worse. some teams regualrly take a break after the first few hurling games and most teams havent a clue when theyre playing. Lads go on J1's for a whole summer and dont miss a game. The only way forward has to be for an all out strike by all club teams. It's ridiculous across the country. I'd certainly be in favour of running the whole club cship once the intercounty is over. Playing 2/3 games in April and possibly having one game left to play in September - which may or may not be meaningless for some clubs is a crazy situation....and that situation has happened. Some clubs have had all their games played in a group and were waiting on one remaining game (not involving them) to be played 3 months later....a result either way decided if they were in a relegation semi or finished for the year!! tiobraid (Tipperary) - Posts: 4119 - 11/04/2018 16:24:19 2092418 Link 0 |
Kerry are playing off their club championships every weekend in April. woops (Kerry) - Posts: 2073 - 11/04/2018 16:45:24 2092427 Link 0 |
Is that just the club championship with the county championship then being left to later in the season. I've played and been knocked out of championship in April before. It makes the season crap. April for championship when a team only has 1 championship is a stupid decision. I'll post a calendar here that I think would be more workable. I don't understand why county boards capitulate to the managers they employ talk about the tail wagging the dog. Just say no! this is it! end off! don't like it? there is the door - its really not that complicated. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4898 - 11/04/2018 19:43:45 2092460 Link 0 |
Complete joke. It is every year. They have two weekends of club championship in a row after Galway play Mayo. I don't know if that means the county board are expecting a win or a loss but I don't see it happening either way. Moving to a group system is a small improvement as draws and replys can't hold things up till the latter end of the championship. Even look at the hurling first road was last weekend. Final is fixed for the 4th of November. Nearly seven months. Starting on heavy pitches finishing on heavy pitches.
