Mayo V Dublin

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Mayo nowhere near their true potential and championship peak. On form Dublin will be favourites but there's a fair bit to work on from the Donegal performance.

Mayo were beaten well by a young Kerry outfit and well imo were sort of man handled on their own turf. They'll be aiming for a performance but if I'm correct C'OC will be missing the game through suspension and that of course plays into Dublin's hands. In fairness to C'OC he really gives it his all against Dublin and his contributions results in scores.

He'll be missed.

Dubs are going for 3 in a row away wins against this Mayo side so there's plenty of pride on the table for Mayo and a big plus for Dublin. 2 points here would really set them up for a final appearance.

As always it should be entertaining. Hopefully might see some game time for Connolly and fingers crossed a few of the younger lads to continue their good form.

Dublin by 3 you say, it will more like 13, Mayo in total mess at present , no fixed team, no new players showing any form, division 2 for them with just the lucky 2 points against Monaghan .

Yeah Dublin by 3+

I can see Mayo being far better against Dublin compared to their Kerry performance and if the weather is poor it'll be a hard slog for Dublin.

I don't see them going down. They'll pick up what they need from what's left.

As I haven't a clue what teams are taking to the pitch I will leave the crystal ball to one side regards margins, overall I'd predict a Dublin win as we have been fluent enough as opposed to Mayo who I think are still sleeping with the Bears , there's a natural hunger with Dublin to stake a claim for a place , that hunger means we don't take teams for granted regardless of form .i expect Dublin to be ready to perform , as for Mayo no idea what to expect personally

In my opinion no matter how poor Mayo play in previous games they always seem to go out and put a fight up against Dublin. Should be a fairly entertaining game with a lock of nice scores. Would like to see a Mayo win but I'm going to go for a Dublin win here.
Dublin 4+

Staying over in castkebar on Saturday and a hell of a lot of dubs I know are staying too, irrespective of the result it promises to be an absolute belter of a weekend. In the game itself, I fancy Mayo actually

A game of shadow boxing at best,

Dublin playing at 60% and jumping a few percent when required and practicing game management, squad will be rotated once again with some other big players getting a leg stretch while those the names who played the last day will be rotated out, a couple of staples in Fenton and Kilkenny and the blooding young lads will continue.

Nothing to be meaningfully achieved for Mayo in the league, safety is the aim well within their reach, small panel and lots of traveling I can understand Mayo threading water in the league and going full pelt in the championship, which as we all know is the priority.

Both teams are the two best in Ireland and have lit up the Championship in the most recent era, I think they will again in the summer, this game will bear no resemblance to recent or likely future championship battles.

Shadow boxing that could go anyway really.

Going to head down to Castlebar myself, really looking forward to it always a great night and good company.

Can't see anything but a Dublin win, especially on league form over the past couple of years. We need points but can't see them here. A surprise would be nice!

Castlebar and Westport fully booked up this we kind I hear. Dublin fans are always welcome in Mayo, great craic.

Dublin and Mayo have the best away support in he leagues by far. We play Kildare week after and Newbridge fully booked and had to settle for Nass.

Can't see us winning this, we're missing too many senior players through injury and suspension and the tight confines of McHale Park probably doesn't suit our strengths in any case.

Dublin by 4+.

Ive said in the games v Kerry and Galway and now Dublin, surely we will see a preformance of note from Mayo, you cant keep using the excuse of older guys missing, time for the next lads to step up.. Lets see Mayos other options.. Mayo by 2

Mayo have to win this game, there will be massive pressure for the remaining games if they lose and you could be relying on other results going your way to stay up, the record at the moment of Mayo v Dublin matches recently is played 12 games League and Championship, Mayo have won 0. As I said Mayo need a win but can't see it happening, if Mayo lose by less than 7 or 8 points i'll be surprised

Mayo are not in a great place at the moment, even though it is the league we're talking about. But if they are not capable of at least giving Dublin are decent game then I would worry about them. I can't see them letting us out of there with a comfortable win.

Players missing is our goto League excuse Belclare. When we go out of the championship it's the referees fault. Seriously though, I don't think players think like that just a minority of supporters.

All signs point to a Dublin win. Mayo form is poor and with the missing players I just can't see where we can get a result. That said Mayo so often produce a performance out of nothing.

I hope we don't get walloped. Those players that line out will want to impress and if your a fringe player the league is your chance...so far no new names bar O'Donoughe at corner back are holding up tiger hands.
