Suppose it depends what your get at the dinner dance. I would like to think that there is a 4 course dinner and some sort of band/entertainment to dance to (else they are venturing in to false advertising). The price you quote would be just over £50 up here and to be honest I don't think that is too bad. And that is not considering other costs involved in staging the event, trophies, flowers for the weemen etc plus the club maybe trying to get a wee bit towards the coffers if there is any surplus. they are usually €30 around this part of the world and even some at 20€. a bit steep at 60.?

I had to buy a brick for €100 as well. That is 4bricks at €100 each and 4 tickets for the dinner at 60 each. That is 640 without a lotto ticket or membership.

We are building as stand which costs €100 a brick and then having a dinner dance. We had a big breakfast in november. In the last 12 months would set me back around 1200 euro. Gaa money mad

Our club dinner dance tickets usually cost 25 euro that's a starter, dinner, desert and the tae. Now it isn't until the following year AGM that the sh## hits the fan, the entire do costs between 3500 and 5000 euro, depends on the number of tickets sold, the problem is every year we seem to be 1500 euro out of pocket and nobody bats an eyelid. Then somebody mentioned something the day after the AGM, if your club gives free tickets to every club officer, their partners and guests from outside the club like co board officials, refs, etc then that could be over 50 tickets, that would be around 1500 euro, how can clubs gather money with that kind of nonsense. 20-30 euro is enough for dinner dance tickets riverboys (Mayo) - Posts: 1389 - 12/02/2018 19:51:30 2076377 Link 0 |

Our club doesn't do a dinner dance per se, we usually do what we call a progressive dinner twice per year. This is kinda like Come Dine with Me, except you're paired with another person, and you move to a different address for each of the three courses, after which people decamp to the pub.
