Galway vs Antrim

No disrespect to Antrim but I think that this game will be done in the first 20 minutes.
Galway are clearly the best team in the country.
Galway 12+

Galway could win this game with their u21 team.

I like your optimism Oak but we have an awful record down there over the years and the margin is usually between 20 and 30 points. Nothing to suggest it will be different this year

So what's your point? A wee cross border Derry gloat about the demise of Antrim hurling?

Great chance for Galway to test out some of their younger talent and guys further down the bench. Watch out for injuries like Jason Flynn last year.

If Galway put out a team with some regulars they will win handy. If they rest far too many players and play a completely experimental team, then Antrim might win. It happened a few weeks ago. Kerry beat Cork. Galway are the best in the country. Playing in 1B of the league didn't matter to them last year. Given the championship is now a league, the league league means even less. Galway will be flying in the summer. This game is irrelevant to them. For Antrim, well their aim has to be coming out of the their championship group. They need confidence. Hopefully they don't lose by 30 points to whatever team Galway puts out. Hopefully for them, they can get some confidence by a narrow defeat or a victory against a completely experimental team.

Some performance from Antrim, encouraging for the season ahead. Galway finished very strongly to snatch it, scoring 7 of the last 8 points.

Nice win (and wake up call) for Galway in that they didn't panic when trailing late. Antrim stepped up their game and will give all their opponents a stern test.

Nice to see Davy Glennon back on the team.

It looks like Dublin are going to be really up against it in Cushendall judging by the respective performances this weekend.

There's a few decent young fellas coming through in Antrim and all credit must go to the hurling fraternity who have stuck at it despite criticism from yes the likes of me. They could do with a lot more help from Croke Park though.
Cushendall has to be the most scenic football pitch in the country. Any Dubs fans travelling up will enjoy it, especially the drive along the Antrim coast road which is on the UN Heritage trail. A couple of decent wee pubs in Cushendall but young people are leaving in droves as there is little work there like a lot of rural Ireland.

Stop making predictions about games you clearly have no idea and very disrespectful to Antrim..

It's OK. Our Derry friend still hasn't got over the University going to Coleraine.

Very impressive from Antrim. Belclare I still predicted who would win.

I hope to have myself nicely ensconced in Joe's (McCollam's?) pub at some stage on the Saturday night man!

I like the drive up from Belfast too along the coast through Glenarm and Carnlough. Beautiful part of the country.

Looking forward to the trip a lot more than the hurling after last night!

It's easy to be wise after the event. Not a bit disrespectful to Antrim. The bookies were offering a handicap of +23 points on them. We were off the pace today which is only to be expected.

If there's a weekend trip away to watch your side and chill out then Cushendall is your place. Beautiful part of the world hail, rain or shine and the weather can change about 10 times in as many minutes but with stunning results. You have McCollams Bar, The Central Bar and the Lurig and the exchange rate is very good if you are travelling North.

Antrim have serious potential massive men, physical very good hurlers. Went to the game today thinking we would blow them away my God we were lucky to just about get the win. Great to see Antrim being competitive.

Just corrected that for you Ulsterman before you give a few of the locals a heart-attack. They have never seen a big ball in their lives!

LOL The only big balls in Cushendall are on New Years Eve and Ruari Og Awards night!
