Indeed I pass on best wished for the season but Joe Brolly's article about homelessness in Ireland was a real eye opener. Many people who are in work cannot get a mortgage or afford the exorbitant rents in Ireland, North and South. Properties are not homes any more; they are now commodities to be traded for profit and make the rich even richer. It is said that 1 in 4 TD's in Leinster House is either a landlord or has investments in several properties. Turkeys aren't going to vote for Christmas and change the existing tenancy rules and regulations. Ireland has lost it's soul.
