Who'd win the best All-Ireland celebrations..

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Well, seeing as the Dubs were absolutely rubbish at celebrating their All-Ireland 3-in-a -row -which is not in keeping with the best traditions of the GAA - I thought it would be interesting to see who posters believed the Dubs could learn from when it came to celebrating an All-Ireland win. Who displayed the appropriate levels of delight? Which team warmed the heart of the nation in a manner that was p[leasing to all Gaels?

Clare went berzerk in 1995. Im sure a win for Mayo would rival it.

Got to say the Meath celebration of 87 and 96 were absolutely legendary particularly 87 in beachmount hotel, thought 88 while still excellent was tamer in the ardboyne 96? Was something to behold, 99 was very tame more family affair (which wasn't bad either. A honourable mention to 91 after defeat cheered the Down team and supporters through Meath then had a mighty night, they were still heroes for what they did that year. And it took one hell of a team to beat them.

Thought 96 was the best because nobody thought we would win..people though we would lose to Carlow in the first round,so every game and every win was a celebration

I remember Carlow thought they had a great chance against a new Meath and they had won 2 games in a row in the championship for the first time in around 30 years. 0-24 to 0-6 it ended up iirc.

Laois went mad after winning the football league in 1986. Lost to Wicklow in Aughrim in the first round.. Very controversial match!

Colm Maher of Laois senior team tragically lost his life tragically in a fire along with 6 family members the previous June Bank Hol Weekend.

Donegal without a doubt, '92 was better than '12, then again I was better able to drink in '92!! think we celebrated for about 10 years.

Roscommon....would be an epic journey down from Dublin....crossing the Shannon....onto kiltoom...lecarrow....into home of 43/44 legend Jamsie Murray in Knockcroghery/Rahara/Ballymurray....onto the long straight road onto Ros town passing by the famous Hyde Park named after first President of Ireland....+ the County would go berserk....went very wild when we won the minor on 06....thousands cheering home from Ennis....id say we'd give any county a good run...serious passion there...
