Great to see the big attendance for the women's finals, the games are better to watch than alot of the men's games,I'd include some of the boring sh1te we paly at times in that too.

I think it's brilliant over 46,000 attended yesterdays ladies' finals.

The skill level in all games was so high. The games were better value than almost all the male inter county football games up to the Kerry v Mayo semis. Solid defensive structures but not total adherence to defence. Really enjoyed watching the games on TG4.

Replying To Breffni39:  "The country is Billiards mad!"
Yes but take athletics, do the figures represent people jogging? or competing? Billiards hmmmm how many clubs? registrations? Aerobics - are we having a bit of a laugh here, do they count ladies footballers who do aerobics!!

GAA is great at promoting women in sport. At lots of clubs over the country, nippers of either gender are trained by adult coaches with the same respect and diligence as if they were adults. It doesn't matter who or what you are, everyone is treated the same. It contrasts very sharply with the cavemen attitudes still prevalent in other sports:

FAI's respect for women in sport:

Golf's respect for women in sport:
