Replying To bud14:  "If mayo get through too the super 8s can they be in galways group does anybody know."
Yes Connacht champions will be in with Munster Champions and two other teams in that group will be qualifiers - one of which could be Mayo

Replying To supersub15:  "Who in their wisdom would introduce a "Super 8" facility to a system that is already flawed or in need of re alignment, as far as I can see the Super 8 is another psychological pressure that the less successful counties have to contend with, along with that the word Elite is more and more being loosely used, I read where Kevin Mc Stay said if Roscommon were to beat Galway in the Connaught final they would be the first county to enter into the Super 8 and be one of the Elite, so who is the elite, who do they represent, what is the cut off point of entry, what is the drop out point, do the elite have bragging rights over the rest, do the Super 8 and the Elite work hand in hand, or are they same thing.?? If the super 8 thing fails it will take another few years to implement a replacement if anyone has the appetite for it, if it's a success it will sent the already successful counties light years ahead of the also ran's. Super 8 and Elite two words that don't fit with an amateur sport / organisation, ie, gaelic games."
What we need is more super 8's, a super 8 in every province (move Dublin into Connacht to give them more competitive games) before getting to a national super 8.

- National league to revert back to a October/November start (with a Christmas break) and finish in March/April
- Provincial super 8's could then begin in April/May
- National super 8's to begin in July August
- One big concert to take place AFTER each national super 8 game
- All Ireland final in September
- Back into the league then again

This was the GAA HQ can maximise revenue providing intercounty players with consistent games. Get rib of the club scene altogether as it doesn't provide the financial income that the intercounty scene does.

Yes hey can. If in the last round of qualifiers they get drawn against the losing Ulster or Leinster Finalists. If they win that game they are in Galways group (Connaught / Munster champions group)

If they draw the losing Connaught or Munster finalists, they will be in the other group (Ulster and Leinster champions)

Replying To Galwayjoe86:  "As far as I know there is no alternative groups for super8s its all pre planned ,if Galway win Connaught for example and if mayo beat Kildare in qualifier mayo go in same group as Galway
Its only qualifiers they try to keep teams apart that played already in Provence"
Come on....It's Connacht not Connaught..I usually let it slide but your a Connacht man.

Replying To maroondiesel:  "The 4 in a row will be well deserved if the Dubs can pull it off this year, serious competition out there. Mayo should make final again as Rochford is the best manager, thinks on his feet."
Rochford better than Gavin? I disagree. Every team in the country has tried to devise plans to out manoeuvre Dublin and none have been successful. Rochford has had a few chances himself and come up short.

When you see the way Dublin have adapted a style of play to beat the blanket defences, when you study their movement/game management/ and incorporation of other sports, namely Basketball. The use of essentially setting screens to create space whereby a player runs across the path of another mans marker to create separation. The use of Kilkenny as the point guard who runs the attack. The incorporation of both zonal and man to man marking defensively.

The numbers (and Sam's) don't lie.

Im insulted you even had to ask! Just pointing out that the top end of GAA HQ seem to have lost the run of themselves.
