Replying To topdownfan:  "As a lot know I don't have much love for Tyrone ,but this year I actually had respect for the the way they where playing But yesterday sitting in croker and to see them breaking away for parade was totally disrespectful to the band and the occasion !!"
Kerry done it the week before. Mayo were walking around following the band on their own. Dry your eyes.

Meeting the presidents and the ridiculous handshake stuff is the last thing a player wants on a big day as your stood still waiting , surely parading is something to savour and gets the adrenaline flowing and something to aim for beeing part of, your moving not standing still so see no reason a player would not enjoy it or be inhibited by taking part in it

Mayo will struggle big time if dubs are allowed play at pace on a dry day."
See this is the only problem I have with what Tyrone did. It gives the idea that it is part of 'mind games' nonsense that grow in urban myth if the results favour the team who did it.

Many logical reasons why Mayo could beat the Dubs. Doing the conga in the parade or running naked in front of the hill won't be one of them.

That's what I thought also.

People read way too much into these things. Its like when Mayo went down to the Hill in 2006 for the pre game kick around and it is given as a reason they won. Such bull! Tyrone did the same thing in 1984 and got hammered. If Tyrone had won the game on Sunday, this parade malarkey would be cited as a reason. It's something for the media to discuss because it fills column inches and airtime. Tyrone should have seen the parade out, it was a half baked stunt and is so unlike Mickey Harte. It was the start of a very bad day for him.

Donegal never do the full pitch. If they do half they are doing well. It has nothing to do with who they are playing.

Walking by the Hill should be no big deal. I did it in 1999 and 2003 and it was just noise amplified a lot!! Actually i got a great buzz out of it, adrenalin rush! Something to savour.

People giving the aura of the hill a bit too much kudos here.... for anyone who's been watching they've been (were) breaking from the parade early all year to go back and finish their own pre-match routine. Nothing to do with the hill, or any other pyscho claptrap unless the Arthurs stand in Clones holds the same fears for them, Dublin a great team but to say "we knew we had them when they wouldn't pass the hill" etc. etc. is pure bull. Had them as Dublin were a better team pure and simple.

Depends how long we keep them waiting for us in the dressing rooms this year. :)

Seanieboy sure you've plenty of time on your hands now ;). Have to say I cringed for Tyrone when they did that, made them look like they were afraid of the Dubs/hill, disrespected the GAA, and tbh made eejits of themselves. Should've concentrated more on their football. Granted other teams have broke off before the full parade but Tyrone doing it as an attempt, albeit unsuccessful, to make a point.

"we knew we had them when they wouldn't pass the hill" ....would be surprised if Dublin fans said or thought that. The general consensus amongst Dublin fans is no one really cares. Bit of booing when it happened but that's part of the noise during the parade. Once game started, it was forgotten about.

Something's extremely cringeworthy and it's not Tyrone breaking from the parade

I must admit I thought that it was game over when I saw it happening! Rugby teams link arms and face the hakka. It was like they did a runner.
I'm not up to speed with their Parade routine this year - but I'll say this. If you're pre-match routine requires these steps, somebody somewhere in the Tyrone setup has got it very badly wrong.

Maybe over the winter they will work hard to reduce their warm-up by 40 odd seconds so they wont have this hectic buildup before a game.

Teams have been doing this forever!
Its a complete non-issue
No disrespect was intended or taken

I think they have enough to worry about and get right never mind parade protocols. If you message is any indication of what concerns the thoughts of the Westmeath set up it's little wonder that they were playing in Division 4 back in the spring

It's Tyrone man - a chance for some gombeens to be offended and outraged, off course it's a big deal.

No problem at all with it and this has been happening for years. I think everyone got a kick out of it and it added to the buzz for both sets of fans. People making too much out of it.

So let me get this correct- other teams have done it (acceptable), but when Tyrone do it they are making a point. Your father (Topdownfan) and yourself seem to spend a worrying amount of time thinking about a county that you dislike.
