no one saying you cannot shout for who you like..just wondering why someone would shout for a county that has won multiple all Irlelands over a team that has won 2 or 3 etc..I and I see a good few posters here would be underdog supporters in the main...when Kilkenny were at their peak I noticed people shouting for them playing Kilkenny and even Galway in All Irelands because they were "Leinster"...the next week they were out again shouting for Munster...playing against Leinster!!...I think some probably have bets on winning margins maybe and that's why they shout for the favourite..but as you say..everyone to their own..for whatever reasons...

that was meant to be when Kilkenny were playing Tipperary and even Galway above

Maybe some non P.C fans shouted for Cork over the Confederate Flag controversy. I dont see any problem with the Confederate battle flag myself. It represents rebel values and State rights, freedom even to many in America and I know it irks others even more who see it as a racist banner.
Personally I was going for Waterford because they have been plugging away for so long.

With KK sweeping 11 of 16 all-irelands in 2000-2015 era, Galway were not the only county tagged with the 'underachievement' slur in the past 20 years. Offaly probably feel good about their translation rate from their 85,86,89 minor successes, but in truth they got lucky in both '94 & '98, and were dealing with a mediocre KK setup in 90's too, prior to Cody's arrival on the scene in '99.

I wanted Waterford to win, because it would be great for hurling to have a Waterford v Galway final....... I also felt that Cork support is 'fickle' in that they don't really support their team in the league or their footballers..... but I would have to say that in all my time watching both codes I thought the Cork support ( which was massive) were very gracious in defeat, I was sitting in the middle of a large group of Cork fans and everyone one was very gracious - not one excuse.... while although I wanted Waterford to win the 3 ( so called waterford) supporters infront of me were beyond a joke, complaining about the referee, the state of the pitch and then questioning why we as Armagh people should be at the game!!!!!!
However I wish both Galway and Waterford all the best and hope for a great final,
