Jesus he was talking in terms of longevity that he would love to see Gavin in charge for many more years he was not talking about achievements. jacktheDub (Dublin) - Posts: 944 - 02/08/2017 12:55:18 2027843 Link 3 |
Eh I'm pretty sure he meant timewise. As in Gavin could manage Dublin as long as Cody has DannyMcA (Dublin) - Posts: 260 - 02/08/2017 13:25:39 2027861 Link 0 |
Yeah I know what you both mean & it was longevity but I don't think that longevity would happen unless the team was winning with him at the helm? slayer (Limerick) - Posts: 6480 - 02/08/2017 13:46:16 2027872 Link 0 |
Sure they look nothing like each other! Offside_Rule (Antrim) - Posts: 4058 - 02/08/2017 13:56:08 2027884 Link 0 |
I'd love to Gavin stay on jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20600 - 02/08/2017 14:50:45 2027927 Link 0 |
That doesn't mean he has to be as successful as Cody is. The comparison begins and ends at the time spent at the helm in my opinion. There's nothing to suggest he meant otherwise imo.

Could ye imagine if Cody had all his championship games at home and had all the money and population available to him that Jim gavin has, he'd have had a ten in a row. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 02/08/2017 19:38:39 2028058 Link 0 |

Has anyone else noticed a lot of other managers trying to copy some of his measures, imitation and what not. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4445 - 02/08/2017 20:47:16 2028089 Link 0 |

Could you imagine that if Dublin only had to play two games to make an AI final how many times we would have got our hands on Sam. Thirty eight at least I'd say. ..

Of course ye would, but it helps that ye get to pick yer own refs that are working and living in Dublin :-0

If we had every game at home and all the funding we'd have 70 AIs even taking Dublin's ludicrous population advantage

If you rotated Ireland 180 degrees we'd be Kerry. Offside_Rule (Antrim) - Posts: 4058 - 03/08/2017 15:08:24 2028444 Link 2 |
You're right and Dublin would be in Galway :-)

That's not true. We don't get to pick our own refs. Obviously we do have a veto if we don't like who the GAA pick for us, but we don't pick them ourselves...........
