Will Galway ever win a Championship game in Croke Park?

Replying To BartMcQueen:  "When Galway lifted Sam Maguire in 2001. It was their second All Ireland in 4 years and looked like the start of a golden era. They won an u21 All Ireland in 2002 and looked like they would dominate football for years, However since tat 2001 victory over Meath, remarkably Galway have never won a championship game in Croke Park. They have played 10 times lost 9 and drawn once. They have scored 9-119(143) but let in 14-158(200) in those 10 games. In those 10 games they have played Kerry 3 times and lost heavily . They scored 4-38(50) and conceded 4-58(70)in 3 games. Will Galway ever win a championship game in Croke Park again??

Unfortunately for Galwegians it will not be today.
We're watching the 2017 AI champions and it's not in the second match.

Based on today it will be a long time before they win a championship game in Croker. They will be joining Rossies in Div 2 next Spring

No, as long they have a dodgy goalkeeper, full back line and continue to be negative and not play to there strengths they should throw of the shackles and go for it in the second half that Kerry back line is very poor the likes of Murphy are OK going forward but a poor at the back.

Agree very naive from Galway and Comer making some real brain dead decisions.

Play to their strengths, as in that forward line?

Don't know about that getting them too far.

Galway played ok today. But keeper was not great. Midfield not great and most of all sideline made wrong calls.
I expect an urgent review from the County board into the tactics used .

Yea thought conroy was non existent at midfield comer has potential needs to improve his decision making, Walsh, Burke are decent forwards. Walsh I feel is to cautious and negative manager.

very overly cautious stuff from galway, dont seem to be getting the best out of players like comer and walsh at all, back line is a serious weak link anyway

Kerry were in second gear and beat us easily. Had we taken even one of our many goal chances we could have given them a fright. That score before halftime was a killer. We had momentum, gap down to 4 , Walsh going through , poor effort at ball to Comer, turnover and point up the other end. Whistle for HT. 5 points in it instead of 3.

Yeah if Galway had even taken one of their first half goals i think it would have been a lot closer in the second half. Once we went 5/6 points up in the second half the game the confidence in Galway dropped. Not a great performance by both teams but on to the next one.
