Kildare V Armagh

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

On league, position, potential etc you'd expect Kildare to win but Armagh are coming in to this match in a lovely position, nicely under the radar. Hard enough to call..

I think it's going to be very close also. The mantle of favourites rarely sits comfortably on our shoulders.

Yes. In fairness on very few teams Lilywhite, i wouldn't be putting yourselves down on that score. Only the major winning traditional counties in both codes carry the tag well.

Good luck to our neighbours. Ye have done great work underage and deserve the revival in fortunes. It'll be a good test of where Kildare are. Dublin was a bridge too soon.

Thanks for your good wishes Laois76. You're right Dublin was always going to be a bridge to far. Kildare need a season division 1 and to remain there, to add to their development before they can realistically be expected to challenge Dublin and the other top teams.

I think after a tight first and second half Kildare will see off Armagh by 4 points.

Black card all day for the Kildare keeper.

Kildare shooting is poor.
If they loose they only have themselves to blame.
Kildare keeper should be off for black card.

One of the best commentary quotes "if you can score a point after you score a goal it's worth as much as 2 or 3 points" - surely it's worth 4 points?

Black card as usual is a joke!

Stonewall black not given to the Kildare keeper, literally the dictionary definition of a black card that was clearly seen by the officials because they gave a yellow card.

There'll be a black card given for something innocuous later probably.

I thought Kildare would have physically dominated Armagh but it's been the other way around. Shocking decision by the referee not to black card the Kildare keeper, as blatant as you will ever see. Let's see Brolly and the rest dissect that. I have said time and time again that officials are human and open to pressure. A black card against the Kildare keeper against an Ulster side in Croke Park will probably never be given irrespective of the offence.

James Horans expert view at halftime. "Armagh forwards were playing very well at the time of the goal". In reality they had scored 1point in the previous 18 or so minutes.

The u21 chokers of the 2013 u21 semi final where they kicked 26 wides v galway have a big task to shake that tag in the second half. I feel sorry for the lads out there because they are well coached and put in massive effort. but you can't buy big game winning mentality and I don't think Kildare have it at any level to be honest.

Whatever about mentality we are probably carrying a few lads also?

Once a set of chokers always a set of chokers. They did it v an awful Galway team in 2013 and again today. Such an appalling decision to base a senior setup around that squad. Talented as they are there is no future in any of them because there is absolutely no clue how to win a big game in the county.
