Tipperary v Armagh

Replying To DooReg:  "I felt even after the first half that Armagh just looked to have the better class of player. After the Tipp goal, Armagh responded really well and Tipp seemed to try and contain rather than push on. The athletic ability of Grimley & Sheridan really made a huge difference in the last 15 minutes and it looks like Armagh are a well conditioned team with very good forwards that can cause damage to any team (well, maybe Dublin apart). I thought the brand of football played by both teams was very fresh - not the every man behind the ball tactic of Tyrone. Now, i couldn't watch that crap every week. Geezer was near hounded out of Armagh as he tried to deploy those tactics 2 years ago; Tyrone have it mastered though. I'm delighted we got Kildare - it will not be easy at all but at least football will be played."
Kildare could be town 2 good players big chance for ye.

The expressions on the Armagh players, management and supporters after the game seemed to be a mixture of delight and relief, perhaps reflecting just how little confidence they all have in their side. They were much the better team in the 2nd half, but the standard of football on display in Thurles was very poor. Tipp have lost too many of their best players to compete this year, yet Armagh still made very hard work of them.

Though not as talented as Kildare, I wouldn't be stunned to see Armagh beat the Lillywhites, simply because history tells us that losing provincial finalists find it incredibly difficult to win the next day out. Having said that, if Armagh do make the quarter final, they'll find Dublin or Tyrone much too strong.

Have to laugh at this post - so, a team should not show delight and relief when winning a tight match? Would you rather show disrespect and smugness (maybe that's a Tyrone thing)? Tyrone are so cocky at the minute but that will all dissipate very quickly if you meet the Dubs.

The reference to poor quality first half?? Did you actually watch the match? Did you watch that first half muck called the Ulster Final? Tyrone were so confident in winning against a very young, inexperienced and unfancied Down team that they got every man, woman and child behind their own 45. At least Down tried to play a bit of football. Both Tipp and Armagh had a go at trying to play football too. It will certainly be Armagh's undoing (i.e. trying to play football) when puke football will likely win out. Jim McGuinness and Mickey Harte have a lot to answer for - Gaelic football has never been so bad. It's that bad, the rule makers are trying to think up ways of restricting how many players are allowed in their own half. Back to the zoned football we used to play at under 6s and 8s.

Dooreg I was in Thurles Saturday night, both teams went out and gave it a go,Armagh deserved their win, better team, both teams went out and played football as we know it,

I have experienced Tyrone, obviously not as much as you,all I will say ,is l have never come across such an unsporting outfit, horrible way to win, under 21 game in Dublin was disgusting,

I wish Armagh well going forward, keep playing football. And fair play to the players, never felt the need to low level sledging to win!!
