I bet he doesn't do it again in the first minute of his next game.

Eh if the ball is long gone and a lad continues his run to clatter into a lad to stop his progress with his shoulder in a deliberate manner that is what I would call a body check. It makes no odds to me whether it was or it was not but that was a black card all day long and I did watch again like u asked.

As clear a black card as you will see all summer, I don't know what the fuss is about. Fine achievement for him to beat Donal Vaughan for fastest black card of the day.

The Gardaí were supposedly called to deal with 'crowd trouble' at the game. What was that all about???

After the Dublin match, I was pretty worried about playing Armagh as they are one of those counties that have the capacity to amass massive scores and the Dubs would have shown them the blueprint of how to do it. However, the Armagh game plan was solely about taking lumps out of the Westmeath players at every chance, which to the Westmeath players' credit, were more than capable of handling. That Armagh approach gave Westmeath countless opportunities to kill off the game but we had no composure up front when it was needed, something Tipp should have no problem with next week.

Longford played them in the league this year & they were unbelievably cynical. Persistent fouling when Longford were trying to break out of defence but the referee took no action against them at all.

In relation to the crowd trouble it was just a couple of loud mouth supporters from both sides facing off. I think a few of the Westmeath supporters were trying to wind the Armagh lads when they thought they had it won. should of kept there mouth shut..

Nothing manly about deliberate & persistent fouling.

Wasnt at the game but have heard from a few that were and both sets of fans were at it. Abusing and goading each other. Subs getting involved with fans slagging each other and the likes. To put the blame solely on Armagh is wrong from the little i have heard

The Westmeath county board are really letting themselves down. I was at the game and there was both sets of supporters giving it all that. Time to shut up and move on, stop whinging.

I remember watching westmeath fans burning an opposing clubs flag at breffni stadium a few years ago . The incident hgappened when armagh took the lead, a member of the westmeath squad turned around and sprayed water into the area of Armagh fans were the players family were sitting including pensioners and children. A number of Armagh fans were also abused by a person selling the half time draw who kept telling people 'we don't accept yer british money down here in Ireland'.

Have to agree with you Tom1916 (Armagh). Whoever threw the water into the crowd was the start of the bad blood. The county board should get all the facts before the start playing the innocent victim. Its pathetic behaviour.

Absolutely disgraceful comments from the Westmeath County Board - I was at the game with my wife and family coming home from a family holiday. (Westmeath should be embarrassed by their lack of support at home for a start!!) There was one sole incident in the far stand that we were aware of right at the end of the game, just after Armagh scored a match winning goal. Seemed to be diffused almost immediately from what I seen. Word on the street was that a Westmeath sub had sprayed water from a bottle which had rattled a few cages. Have to say that I never encountered any drunk people either. A little sweeping to accuse all 4000 supporters of being drunk etc. Sounds like real sour grapes from the county board here after almost a month!

This cuts both ways. Fans from 6 county sides are subject to some horrendous abuse in grounds in the South even from Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan. I have heard "British b*****d's" shouted frequently and "Where's your f*****g Queen" alongside "You are not Irish", " Unionist *****" and so on. I watched the 1989 All Ireland hurling final in Rosslare while waiting on a ferry to France. In the bar the partitionist abuse thrown at Antrim was shocking. It ended with a few loudmouths ending up on their a**es when some disgruntled Northern people had enough. So before anyone throws brickbats at Armagh they should have a good look at themselves first.
