like dublin last week, hard enough to judge considering the opposition are poor

Very good performance from Kerry

I thought Cork would have brought a little more but they were playing an excellent team who are much further down the road

Men against boys stuff really.

Cork football really is at a low ebb right now.

Kerry barely had to get out of 1st gear and could have won by a lot more if they were really in the mood.

Panned out exactly as most people expected, despite a few posters trying to make out that this would ever be competitive, with Kerry winning easily whilst not really having to extend themselves too much.

Replying To Joxer:  "I'd back Kildare or Meath against that shabolic Cork outfit. Munster should be scrapped, there's nothing there. How many finals is that with the same pairing?"
Tipperary played Kerry in last year's final. Nine times out of ten the Munster final is Kerry v Cork. Leinster is no better, Dublin are dominant for the past 12 years, apart from Meath in 2010.

In each province there are teams ahead of the opposition. Maybe a round robin provincial system is the answer, or go for broke with an open draw national championship.

Kerry win by 11points.

Well Thank God that's over, had been dreading it. I can relax & enjoy the hurling now.
Not a lot can be said about Cork Football, we urgently need " outside of Cork Management".
I'd be looking to either Kerry or Ulster for new Manager.
Re Kerry, as Danny said earlier, excellent up front but suspect at the back.
Cork created a number of goal chances but couldn't convert any, a better team could have taken 3 or 4 goals off that defence.

Frank needs to get on the blower to Pat Gilroy or James Horan. There is a team in there somewhere

I actually think Clare are ahead of Cork at the moment. For a team that has had so much u 21 success in Munster you really got to ask what is going on behind the scenes

Absolutely nothing province 79th title for Kerry only 2 winners outside Kerry or Cork since 1922!!!!! 93 titles split between Kerry or Cork since 1922. Huge advantage over the last 100 years for Kerry playing in a hurling province. Dublin dominance in leinster has been over the last 12 years not 100. System is a joke 2 games and into a quarter final, 4 weeks to put the feet up. Absolute farce.

Kerry have a very soft underbelly they didn't feel the need to pull out all the cynical tactics today saving them for bigger days. Maguire, Clancy, Connolly and Kerrigan missed absolute sitters. Geaney and o'donaghue looking very good.

It's not that much of a farce really.

Suppose it was an open draw championship. You'd need to win 2 games to make the quarterfinals. They'd probably be easier than Clare and Cork on average.

Dublin's route of Carlow, Westmeath and Kildare is barely any more difficult.

I agree. While a few years ago, that would have been a ridiculous suggestion as there would have been zero chance of implementation, this new stadium needs filling and we need to be in Division 1. This setup is torture and nobody else wants it. So who knows what might happen?

Then again, the hurling team are starting to do well. Between them and Ed Sheeran, the stadium will be full. We may just let the football team rot. Natural evolution suggests we win an All Ireland every 23 years anyway. Frank may realize we are 16 years away from pushing the panic button.

Ok I'll hold my hands up and say I called this very wrong. I've huge respect for Cork GAA, I hate them with a passion, but I've always respected them and as a Kerry fan I feel really sorry to see Cork at such a low level. The GAA's all the poorer for it.

By the by, to the Dub poster above with his "saving our cynical stuff" guff. I've said it before and I'll say it again - no Kerry man ever tried to put he's fingers in a fella eye. Yer as dirty as the day is long. I've no problem with ye being so mind, but don't dare stand on your box and claim yer angels

As I said Dublin have dominated the last 12 years not 100. At least in leinster you have to play at least 3 games to get to the quarter final and Dublin will be playing a div 1 next year in a prov final. This is a Cork team who beat Waterford by 1pt and scored 1pt against Tipp in the first half. Joke of a province. 79 titles in a hurling province less than 50% have been converted into all ireland's and I would be sure that is down to the fact they have had too many cake walks in munster and have not being properly tested when they meet a footballing county when they come out of a hurling dominated province.

I think it was the great Billy Morgan who said the most cynical team he ever encountered was from the south west. And that Cork team played against a tough meath team.

Disagree with this statement. Kerry dont have a soft underbelly. You are putting them in an unwinable situation here. If they foul, they are cynical and win at all costs. If they play fair, the opposition are blamed for not putting it up to them.

I do think that the provincials in both leinster and munster are at the point of the Scottish spl.
