Kerry v Cork

Replying To rmtusa:  "In the last half of football Cork played they totally dominated an All Ireland semi finalist from last years championship.
Cork will give Kerry a very good game, much more of a challenge than Dublin will get Lenister."
Kildare are demonstratively a better side than Cork at the moment. The Lillies comfortably beat Cork in the League and finished above them.

Cork beating Kerry is less likely than Kildare beating Dublin.

Cork football is in a bad way at the moment. Kerry had their biggest test in Munster already, when they went to Ennis and beat Clare by 6 points with only 14 men.

Dara tipping Cork in today's Irish Times, I've seen the Kerry boys do the cute hoor before but this is quite a stretch

Its probably in hope and romance that i expect cork to do something on sunday. Playing anyone other than kerry i would be thinkIng along the same lines as your self. But its kerry. If they cant get the blood up for kerry then hang up the boots. I think what we are struggling with in cork is where have the players gone. where are all the u-21's that were winning munster titles. We are hoping a rising tide lifts all boats and with the rise of the hurlers in cork that it might inspire the footballers

I expect Cork to empty the tank on Sunday and give Kerry a run at least, if they can't manage that, the present team is finished.

Sure I'll be in Killarney on Sunday, just like I have been for the last fifty years. I never had much hope back then and now it's come full circle again. Travelling more in curiosity than expectation. Just how bad can they be? Something is seriously wrong with Cork football and nobody even knows what it is. We have good players, but they seldom play well or with any sort of coherence. This time there isn't any hope.

if kerry lose on Sunday am I right in thinking they can meet the dubs in the quarter final if we beat kildare ? in other words loser on the B side

My agenda for Sunday.
Find a nice bar in Cork city and have a few pints expecting to see Kerry to beat Cork by 9/10 points.
Would love it to be a close cracker of a match but can't see it.

Then sit back and have a few more points watching the Leinster hurling final not giving a care who wins!

But if the unthinkable does happen and Kerry lose to Cork, will I really care,...no is the answer as Kerry will still be in the mix come August.
Please end these provincial championships or go back to straight knockout

Cork have had to dig deep to get to this final

They are there now and still have the players to trouble Kerry, especially if Kerry have a slightly below par performance

But with Kerry at home and the quality that they have

I'd say Kerry by 4-5 points

But there's no real pressure on Cork at all.. so that might give them a nice bit of looseness to go and express themselves

No one expects them to win so that's a nice bit of motivation to go and find a performance

They absolutely have it in them to click if Kerry aren't 100%

Fast start from Kerry.

This could be a very long afternoon for Cork. This could get embarrassing quickly.

cork are all over the shop. a very poor cork side at that .. kerry making hay while the sun shines going forward ... that said, I can count 3 occasions already where cork have gotten in for a goal chance relatively easy.. there are definitely areas kerry can be exploited

Thank God for the Ulster Championship which is keeping Gaelic football alive.

What a shambles of a Cork performance. Kerry should be about 10 up at HT. Can't understand Cork conceding half the pitch to the Kerry backs. Looks like very poor strategy. If they don't push up on Kerry this will be a handy double scores win for Kerry. No competition in Munster at all now.

I don't think Cork have played too badly at all. Main difference is the accuracy of Kerry, I can't remember them kicking a single wide whilst Cork must have 6 or 7 wides at least.
In fairness Kerry look the better team and look to have an extra gear if they need it.
Kerry will win it handy enough but for Cork it's important not to throw in the towel & keep battling on to the end,

Is Neilan getting all Kerry matches now? League final. Munster final. All Ireland final next?

No, losers and winners of Munster and Connacht are on the A side.

B side is looking really like Tyrone v Kildare quarterfinal with the winners going against Dublin in the semifinal.

Kerry and cork is no longer a fixture you expect a shock from. It used to be even money when cork were at home. Too big a gap now. Pity it has turned into another Leinster.

Kerry lethal up front. Bang average at the back.

I'd back Kildare or Meath against that shabolic Cork outfit. Munster should be scrapped, there's nothing there. How many finals is that with the same pairing?
