Mayo v Derry

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Imagine a few shock editions to the Derry Squad for this match, the championship aswell. Would be crazy if Shane Heavron, Christopher and Ronan Bradley, Patsy Bradly, Niall Holly, Keelan Feeny and Sean Leo McGoldrick all came upon the list and Barton got rid of some players who don't deserve to be there ( I'll give no names). Would definitely worry Mayo if they seen Shane Heavron and Christopher Bradley in the full forward line. The chances of this happening in slim to none, but anything can happen.

Replying To border Gael:  "Would love to see Derry win this one. Hope the referee has the confidence to referee this one by the rules and use his head and not let mayo away with the same antics that they used against Galway."
Welcome to the qualifiers lad. Speaking of refs, any chance we could borrow your one from last night? He put in a mammoth second half performance for the Farney men.

Why do I keep seeing references to that game every now and then? People forget that Mayo had a stone wall penalty denied before that incident.

I hope the Derry lads wear those box type things that cricket batsmen wear, just in case a Mayo lad tries to knee them in the spuds.

If the likes of Diarmuid Connolly/Paul Galvin/Ricey McMenamin had carried out such an assault this place would be in uproar.

It is such a dangerous and cowardly thing to do.

My question was a genuine one - as in who would Mayo people like to see at 3?

Jezz - there's some hate on here lads!"
The best fullback in Ireland would be nice But we don't have him It's a weak position for Mayo right now Can Caf raise his game ya will he Who the hell knows Who else do we have

I agree but likewise sledging is also cowardly wouldn't you say ?

There was also a clear dive by a fermanagh lad 5 minutes before the penalty. That resulted in one of just two points fermanagh scored in the 2nd half. But sure we'll say nothing about that.

Sticks and stones, yew_tree. I'd rather be called a name that get kneed between the legs. It's disgusting, dangerous and I'm surprised more wasn't made of it.

Possibly because of the player and the straight red card he correctly received.

Works both ways I suppose. Comer was lauded for ploughing into a lad's back and forcing him off the field injured.

If you're trying to compare a genuine attempt to win the ball with a genuine attempt to knee someone in the balls then I'm not interested.
And you should be embarrassed for attempting to.

Mayo's championship record in Castlebar should see them over the line here.

Keith was punished accordingly for what he did. A very costly red card early in a championship game plus a further 1 game suspension. What more do you want? Aidan O'Shea was kicked in the stones by a Donegal player during the league and was basically called out as a diver on the sunday game. Maybe Comer should be thankful the same didn't happen him.
