Kerry's easy path

I shudder to think if we had EVERY Championship game at home how many titles we would have won? At least 50 but I suspect it would quite a lot more.

Or if we dictated the funding , population, and a had oceans and oceans of jobs which would attract people from all over Ireland and beyond to live here and have their kids play for us making us even stronger

But you know what it wouldn't be near as enjoyable, winning against all the odds brings much much more joy , if it was just expected the sense of pride and achievement wouldn't be near that it is now

Imagine had Dublin or Mayo doped the way Kerry have. I daresay we'd have put a stop to that gallop! Oh....wait :p

F##K no !!!!!
We're shite to be honest. a long and miserable history of underachievement .. Lighten up though, it was only a bit of craic following your proclamation of Kerry greatness...

Good thing my wife's a Kerry woman, gives me an idea of how utterly humourless some of you Kerry lads are when it comes to your beloved Football...

And we don't even take that competition seriously.

That's 20 league titles to us the nearest to us is Dublin with only 12 who go all out to win it every year."
Jesus you really have a hxxd on for all things Dublin. DUBLIN didn't give a damn about the league for about 20 years until Gilroy took over and changed the mindset it was one of the reasons that used be thrown out there for why we went so long without winning sam.

So 1 squad player who took a fat burning pill from a a contaminated sample means there has been systematic doping in Kerry?

You would want definitive proof if you are going to make libelous statements like that.

Actually we are very well known for our wit and literary skills also - Writers Week in full flow as we speak

If people think they can try and undermine and sully the achievements for which we have poured our blood, sweat and tears into unanswered they have another thing coming

Gaelic Football isn't just another game or pastime for us it's part of our soul, from the moment we are born the game is inextricably linked within ourselves until the day we die.

Unless you haven't spent time in Kerry it's hard to properly understand this sensation

.Christ man, you'd swear your mothers honour had been defamed or something. Take a few slow, deep breaths.
I spend plenty time in Kerry, lovely scenery..People are usually good craic too when football isn't involved.

Going to bail out now, small matter of my poor aul hurlers playing Clare tomorrow to concentrate on..

That's great and proves the point that Gaelic Football means more inherently to a Kerry person than it does to your average Limerick, Dublin person etc

Of course that is a double edged sword as defeats strike to the soul much much deeper and last longer.

Sometimes I feel it'd be easier if I could just let a bad defeat wash away an hour after the game and move on with life but when something is so intrinsic in the DNA rationality doesn't follow on

Yeah having one foot in a semifinal for 116 years isn't an advantage at all.. sure. All that winning didn't breed generations of kids that wanted in on that, producing many football families generation after generation with only football on their minds.

Winning breeds winning

I'm seeing that culture change in Dublin now, I've never seen the amount of kids being sent out to play GAA by their parents, Dub jerseys everywhere, it's become very attractive for parents and it's a game changer.

Kerry have had a golden ticket and easy access to semifinals but to their credit they have brilliantly taken full advantage

Dublin have the 2nd most AI titles but Leinster has been far more competitive over the decades and I've no doubt that Dublin would have 30+ with the geographical advantage that Kerry have enjoyed, we're not far off that amount as it is.. playing Clare,Tipp, Waterford year after year to be in a semifinal!

We'd def have a few more titles alright

It's only since tactics and sports science have come to the front that Kerrys obvious geographical advantage has somewhat diminished and there are now teams battling back against a 116 year old advantage

No doubt Kerry have produced many great players but that's been bolstered by having it handy in Munster for a long time, kids wanted in and football became a massive part of their culture and lifestyle and on it goes

Munster is a hurling first province and Kerry only had the odd decent Cork side to beat.

Of course they've had it handy but they took advantage of their obvious advantageous so fair play to them!

But it's simply deluded to deny that advantage, but coming from certain posters that doesn't surprise me.

Explain how we have more leagues than everyone else so Jim?

The nearest to us is Dublin which are 9 behind.

We have 20 that's 20 league titles kid ;-)

Mayos minefield of a draw every year trying to get past sligo and leitrim certainly has seen them rake in the All Irelands.

Maybe Dublin at the moment navigating through the likes Carlow and Kildare with a handicap of 15 points in most leinster games. Laughable stuff really but this seems to raise its head every year ironically from the dubs given the fact that their province could not be more easier.

Thats because they had to go lightly in the league because of the brutally tough Leinster Championship KB

Ignore Leinster counties League Status or lack of QF, SF Appearances in the AI they are so mentally and physically fatigued by the mighty Leinster Championship they have nothing left to give.

You wouldn't mind the whinging about Kerry if it was coming from northern supporters but the only ones giving out appear to be from Dublin, supporters of a team with every advantage imaginable. Is there any other sport in the world where one team gets such systematic favouritism? And yet they never ever stop complaining about Kerry. It's crazy.

the only with an anyway legitimate compliant is Ulster as they had the Troubles to deal with and a very competitive Championship in the 90's 00's and now albeit the top 3 well ahead of rest

The Leinster teams always get overhyped by the Dublin media beyond what what they achieve on the field of play

The only people complaining about the fact that - quite correctly - HS highlight shortcomings in the Munster SFC appear to be from Kerry.

Go figure.
