Who? How do you define a modified helmet? Daithi Burke's definitely is cos he has abat removed. He is taking a big chance there from a safety point of view and I guess that's his business. Killarney.87 (Tipperary) - Posts: 2513 - 11/05/2017 23:42:33 1986099 Link 0 |
... and you could do all those things with hurling, if felt needed...

If you look at the helmets the players wear, they are not the same as the Cooper or Mycro or Marc ones you buy in the shop. Every county the vast majority of players change the face guard, I would agree that that is the case. Pinkie (Wexford) - Posts: 4100 - 12/05/2017 10:37:39 1986136 Link 0 |

Nobody did.... since you pointed it out that they use these features in in Hockey , I am saying Hurling could also use some or all of those features you brought up, if it was felt needed.

American football and ice hockey are not good comparisons to make. In American football, all the players are in a set formation so you know exactly where they are, and its a slow game. In ice hockey there are only 5 outfield players on each team - and they don't have uniform helmets either, a lot of players wear a full visor and just as many don't wear full visor.
