If rumours are true regarding Johnny Cooper, our chances a lessened somewhat I would say. Why out of the 4 years that the A and B side of the Qualifiers have the Ulster Preliminary Round losers been in the A side only once and the B side 3 times? Would you not expect it to be year about i.e. 2 years of the A side and 2 of the B side after 4 years of it or is that not how they work out who goes in the A and B and it is more complicated than that? Now, I know that there was a proposal to remove the A and B side of the Qualifiers so it may no longer matter (or maybe didn't really matter anyway) but I noticed it first last year when I thought the Ulster team were due to be in the A side again (2014 A side, 2015 B side) but then thought would wait and see this year as was expecting it to be back in the A again. Leinster also have the Preliminary round (Connacht does too but they, or more to the point NY, doesn't get in) and they have had the same allocated pots for the 4 years i.e. 2 in to the A side and 1 in to the B side. So not really sure how they decide the early stage pots or why some Provinces seem static in their allocation while others change. Anyone? Ulster is not as competitive as it was but compared to the other provinces it's still the toughest to win. In Ulster there are three genuine contenders Tyrone, Donegal & Monaghan. Hoping for a good performance from Dublin tomorrow as they enter this transitional period. We have nothing to complain about really we have had a good few years, anything else achieved is bonus territory, but its important to be realistic. Plenty of youth in Dublin Team Vs Carlow tomorrow Cluxton Fitzy Cooperman Lowdnes Scully O'Sullivan Jack Fenton Jimmy Mc Kilkenny Dermo Mannion Macker King Con Dean Rock. Looks like the rumours abound about Cooper were unfounded, McCarthy starting in midfield is worth the of price of admission. Scully giving a run at 5. A first, but probably not the last start for King Con and in his preferred position.
