bennybunny (Cork)-good post and to the point. I will say that the black card is being given out with little logic and not in according to the rule- the foul has to be intentional, now there are many times when that aspect of the rule cannot be determined by a ref, or indeed by anyone else.

Replying To bennybunny:  "The only player that got Lee Keegan sent off was Lee Keegan. He finally got his comeuppance. Mayo should play him wing forward and let his talents shine. He is a gifted football player but is wasted when he is man-marking other team's best players - in gaelic football, that means swinging out of players. That is what he did. he got caught. He should have been given the line against Tyrone as well. Instead, Sean Cavanagh got it.

The most frustrating thing about gaelic games is that we have 7 officials - 6 of them do nothing to help the referees enforce the rules. Eddie Kinsella said the other week that Kerry v Donegal was 'un-refereeable'. No game should be like this. If ex players go to the media and complain about rough house tactics. They are only talking about what we can all see. If officials get their act together and apply the rules consistently we won't have such issues. Its the inconsistency that drives people mad. Keegan deserved the black card. His only issue can be with why loads of others (on his own team and Dublin - John Small??) didn't get one too. He didn't deserve to be a scapegoat."
Your first two sentences indicate that logic will be dispensed with when you talk about Keegan. Bias like that makes it difficult to give any credence to your comment on his black card incident.

He's making the point that if Lee Keegan don't make the fouls then Lee Keegan don't get the cards
which is totally true regardless of what anybody thinks of him

When Paul Curran wrote this last week the last thing he thought was we'd be playing Kerry in the final, so for the Kerry manager to make out this was some plan to effect the referee in the lead up to league final is nuts. He gave his opinion on Kerry in Tralee not even knowing if they'd even meet again this summer and if they do meet it would be only in the All Ireland final and what Curran said would be long forgotten by then. So Eamon is playing the game very well this week in the lead up to the final.

As I have mentioned before I dont think it really matters if Kerry win or lose the final but a win be a big boost for Eamon Fitz himself.
I am not one of his biggest fans but thought he was spot on in barking back defending Kerry in his interview!

But overall he has made some very dubious calls in our big games against Dublin. Some of them fairly mind numbing.
I am not one of his biggest fans but hopefully he will have learnt lessons from the past and show an improvement from the sidelinel this year against the Dubs.

About time somebody called it for what it is. Gavin pedals this notion about Dublin playing open traditional football. Well is it traditional to constantly get 14 men behind the ball. Constantly foul opposing defenders coming out with the ball and have a number of players who are not afraid to leave in a boot or a fist. Of course the dublincentric media lap up all of Gavin's utterances. Ex players constantly try and target opposition players in order to influence weak minded refs. It's all a con job and fair play to fitzmaurice for exposing it

What an absolute circus, there was a piece on Off The Ball on Friday about this, it was like a court hearing to condemn Dublin for not admitting that we're not whiter than white. So what if we have a bit of the divil, so what if we can get defensive and do the 'rough' stuff. I am glad we can, football is that type of game, it was never whiter than white, for anybody.
For god's sake, grow a pair and take the beatings or beat us, we won't complain I can guarantee, truth is, we're the best and will be until we start losing again, which isn't too far down the road in my opinion. And then what? " ha ha stupid Dubs can't win even with all that money"
We'll do our talking on the pitch, Jim can play the media any way he likes, I'm sure he wouldn't talk to them at all if he had is way, I know I wouldn't, something I admire Mickey Harte for is the way he snubbed RTE.

Realdub
You have to admit that Jim Gavin has been playing the media like a fiddle, I'd say not one word is said from within the dubs camp without his say so .

I've seen his interviews and he always has the head tilted and a rye smile.

Jim started all the stuff this week with his after match comments about cynical Kerry, so every action has a reaction, I was delighted fitz stood up for our team coz usually you can't get a reaction out of him, usually he's like fr stone.

I can see tomorrow's game being a war of attrition and I hope we set up the biggest blanket defence the GAA had ever seen, I hope the game ends up 6 pints to 5 and we win by 1.

Fitzmaurice getting the whinging in early in the hope of influencing the referees perception of any 50-50 decisions.

They are rattled.

As long as Kerry don't get unjust ghost goals this time around awarded by unsighted Meath men, we should be ok.

Not a sound from the Dublin camp, Fitzmaurices comments were poorly timed and games be an insight into the Kerrys camp state of mind, we will be out of conclave tomorrow morning and hopefully right all the positive headlines for the sports pares come Monday.

The City will be alive tomorrow.

In fairness to Curran, he made his comments before Kerry were even in the final, he had no intention of trying to have any influence on the final

I was thinking the exact same thing Realdub.
That installment of Off the Ball was cringe worthy.
Couldn't believe it - was fully expecting the Dublin team to be suspended from competitions for 5yrs such was the biased vilification of the current Dublon team and management.
