And here was me thinking this thread was about Div 2 final.....Not Meath past record and future potential. Give us all a break Lyonshall and stick to topic or create a new thread. None of us really care about your views on Meath today. commander (Kildare) - Posts: 225 - 09/04/2017 10:23:24 1977296 Link 2 |
A Meath man coming on this thread spouting off rubbish with long winded posts . Typical; Looking forward to the games today , hope they are exciting and open football played. The key for Galway is how or if our defence has improved since our last visit to Croker... Belclare1 (Galway) - Posts: 1626 - 09/04/2017 11:08:17 1977305 Link 2 |

You are missing a lot of chances - otherwise playing well

Better second half, entertaining enough. However again inconsistent refereeing, there could and should have been at least 3 black cards in the second half. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9706 - 09/04/2017 15:37:54 1977389 Link 0 |
First half both teams looked at bit nervy , probably snatching at shots that weren't really on. Second a better contest and much more enjoyable to watch. Tight enough but the scores from galway subs just shaded it. Kildare looked alright at times defending but too slow moving the ball forward.

Definitely inconsistent refereeing just like the next game will be, and all games throughout the summer and after that , just like football , hurling , soccer , rugby or any other sports where its a person that makes the calls

A big win for Galway adding to their Connaught last year. First win in croker since their great 2001 team. A really good second half by both teams with great scores from play. Both teams will be happy with their performances. Once again, good game. Credit to both side. Bain (Donegal) - Posts: 470 - 09/04/2017 16:32:04 1977414 Link 3 |

Firstly congratulations to Galway. Now that Galway have got rid of that record the sky is the limit for this Galway team. Every decade since the 1920s Galway have reached an All Ireland final at least. I can see Galway doing the same in the next few years. I think this Galway outfit has serious potential . I can see Galway winning multiple connacht titles, breaking into top 4 or 5 teams in the country. And maybe even winning an All Ireland. Good times ahead for Galway. And that is good for the GAA. The GAA needs a strong Galway. Galway bring something special to the table. Imagine a Mayo v Galway All Ireland final. That would be a cracker . Well done to Galway. Probably just about deserved it on the day. Plenty of positives for us too though. Niall Kelly is key for us this summer obviously but that's hardly news ! So is Paul Cribbin : I think management got a big call wrong today - he clearly wasn't fit. On a lighter note what were the two HawkEye calls about - the Niall Kelly point & the Galway wide. Hilarious. You wonder sometimes if they think they have to get a couple of referrals up in every game even if clearly no need. Well done to Galway, a monkey off the backs today with a win in Croker and a trophy to boot, Kildare have promotion which is more than what was expected of them so a good year so far for both sides. Wasn't a great game, particularly first half, but livened considerably in the second half. Both will look forward to the summer with optimism after a useful Spring. Thought that the quality of football in this game was very poor especially in the first half. I was sitting next to a Galway fan from Tuam and we both agreed that both Galway and Kildare will really struggle in Division 1 next year. The difference in pace between the 2 finals yesterday was astonishing and I cannot see Galway or Kildare having any say in their provinces this summer based on yesterday. Galway were extremely porous at the back and can be cut open at will like Tipperary did in last years quarter final. Think both Kildare and Galway will be lucky to be still playing in late July kingdomfan (Kerry) - Posts: 393 - 10/04/2017 13:27:27 1977939 Link 0 |
Thanks Kingdom for that... Dont be listening to thise Tuam lads!!
