Leitrim manager Shane Ward is looking for a response from his players following last weekend's poor display against Carlow.

The Barrowsiders put the final nail in Leitrim's slim promotion aspirations, but the manner of the defeat was a cause for concern for the management team.

However, Ward told the Leitrim Observer that they have found themselves in this position before and have managed to bounce back and he is eager for them to do the same starting with this weekend's clash away to Waterford.

"It won't take long to turn around because we have been in this position once or twice last year so the boys will react this time the way they've been educated to respond," said Ward.

Leitrim currently sit third from bottom in the table and a defeat to Waterford could see them finish bottom; a situation they will be keen to avoid.
