Limerick manager Maurice Horan isn't allowing Ian Ryan's injury overshadow his side's preparations for Saturday Munster SFC quarter-final against Cork in the Gaelic Grounds.
The Shannonsiders' captain, and main scoring threat, is unavailable because of a torn ankle ligament but Horan says they just have to get on with it.
"You look at the injuries, like Colm O'Neill's injury and say that it's part of the game now," Horan said to the Irish Examiner.
"It's something I've come to accept, it was very frustrating for my first two years. You spend most of your time not really talking about football but managing injuries.
"It's a part of it now, especially in Limerick where you have a small pool of players."
Cork are odds-on favourites to advance to a semi-final but that is a fact of life in Munster for Horan and his charges.
"Kerry and Cork are difficult for any team in the country to beat and Limerick are just unfortunate.
"Before the qualifiers once they were beaten by them or got drawn against them that was more or less it for the year.
"I think in the last couple of years they've had some success in the qualifiers, we're getting a bit more confidence, the younger guy especially. It gives them a chance to see the world outside of Munster in terms of championship."
