Cavan's Martin Dunne celebrates. INPHO
Martin Dunne is hoping Seanie Johnston returns to play for Cavan one day.
Dunne has been dubbed 'the new Seanie Johnston' after his sensational championship debut for the Breffni County against Armagh on Sunday and he hopes to some day line out alongside his former Cavan Gaels clubmate in the county colours.
Johnston has controversially transferred his allegiances to Kildare but Dunne would welcome his one-time idol back with open arms:
"Seanie is a good friend of mine, I still get on very well with him. He is a great player and you never know, he might play for Cavan again some day.
"I hope so anyway. We'll keep the fingers crossed. I would have seen the hours he put in on the home pitch.
"When I was growing up he was one of the lads I looked up to and I tried to replicate a bit of my game on him. I suppose some of it has paid off now."
