The death took place on Saturday last, 20th May of Michael McGuinness, a member of a well-known Roslea family who moved to Trillick after a spell in London. He was 52.

He is immediately survived by his wife, Deirdre (nee Tunney, Trillick) and their children, Kevin, Liam and Grace. Born in Roslea into a family of eight, he schooled locally in St Tiemey's PS and St Eugene's Secondary School before moving on to Jordanstown. From there, he got placement with the Farrans Group as a trainee surveyor after which he emigrated to England.

Sadly, shortly after, he was involved in a serious road traffic accident, out of which he was 8 weeks in a coma. But, from re-learning the basics, he worked his way back to almost complete rehabilitation. In 1992, he married Deirdre in London where they lived and where some of the children were born. The family then moved to Trillick where Michael and Deirdre built a new home.

In his younger days, Michael played gaelic football with his four brothers. He featured as a sub in successive years on the Roslea Shamrocks teams of '82, '83 and '84 and., in the Centenary Year of the Association; 1984 had the distinction of being a member of the club's all-conquering sides, in his case, as a junior player. ,

In addition to his wife and children, he is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Jim, Francie, Kieran, Martin, Ann, Dolores and Roisin.
