Ladies keep flag flying

September 08, 2009
A Chara, Fermanagh GAA wish to extend our warmest congratulations to our female counterparts on their wonderful performance on Saturday in reaching the All Ireland Intermediate Championship final. We wish them all the best as they keep the Fermanagh flag flying in Croke Park on Sunday 27th September. The date of the ladies All Ireland final clashes with our original date for our County Final, to enable all our supporter to support our ladies the County Management Committee have decided to change the date of the County Final. The County Final will be brought forward by a day and will now take place on the evening of Saturday 26th September under the lights of Brewster Park, Enniskillen. This is sure to be a very unique weekend in Fermanagh, for the first time in Fermanagh and possibly in any other county our Championship final, between Roslea Shamrocks and Derrygonnelly Harps will take place under lights. In the 125th Anniversary of the GAA nationally this will mark the dramatic improvements in facilities in our association. For Fermanagh we also celebrate this year the achievements of our first All Ireland success 50 years ago, the All Ireland Junior Football Championship of 1959. At our county final we will have an opportunity to honour the men of '59. This is sure to be a historic night not to be missed. Fermanagh GAA would be delighted to welcome any members of the press who wish to attend this unique Fermanagh County Final in Brewster Park. In other news from tonight's County Board meeting Fermanagh GAA can confirm the reappointment of a number of our County Managers for the next year: Senior Football Team: Malachy O'Rourke U21 Football Team: Darren Chapman Senior Hurling Team: Rory O'Donnell Is mise, le Meas, Deirdre Ní Dhonaile
