Ryan McMenamin celebrated his first win as Fermanagh manager yesterday and it couldn't have been any more dramatic.

Trailing Roscommon by 0-3 to 0-9 at the break, the Ernesiders produced a superb second half comeback to win by a point at Brewster Park.

"Football is a bit like a bus, if you want to get on it you have to put up your hand and if you don't, it will just pass you by," the former Tyrone defender told the Irish Daily Star.

"We showed Roscommon far too much respect in the opening half and we just told the lads to take ownership of this match and that is what they did.

"They didn't do anything radically different, but they showed real character. Roscommon showed why they are Connacht champions in the first half and they kept the ball really well.

"But we have a good young team with loads of pace and I am happy enough to get the win, but I have to put it all down to the players."
