Aughadrumsee manager Colum Monahan admits that they are more than happy ahead of this weekend’s Ulster club JFC semi-final against Derry champions Limavady.

Monahan admitted to the Fermanagh Herald that he is used to seeing his charges being underdogs in this year’s championship.

A win over Armagh champions Keady at the Athletic Grounds was a huge boost for their confidence and Monahan feels that they have nothing to fear at Healy Park, Omagh on Sunday either.

“There is a really good buzz about the camp at the moment, the player’s cannot wait for Sunday’s game and we know if we can play to our potential then there is no reason why we can’t make an Ulster final,” said Monahan.

“Fermanagh football is on the rise, ok Derrygonnelly and Belnaleck were defeated but you have to remember the likes of Scotstown and Banagher are two formidable sides and still the two Fermanagh clubs put it up to them.”

He added: “Against Keady I felt we were definitely the better side, the lads played excellent and really dug deep late in the second half when the Armagh side came back at us.

“Limavady will be another serious threat, we have spoke in training about the need for starting well and I know we grow into games with plenty of confident players in the team.”
