Brian Cox has rejoined the Fermanagh football squad after a lengthy absence.

The Belfast Telegraph is reporting that the 27-year-old doctor has linked up with Rory Gallagher's squad after spending a year in Australia and, more recently, helping Belcoo to a Fermanagh IFC title. Cox, who was handed his inter-county senior debut by Malachy O'Rourke in 2010, is expected to see action in the upcoming Dr McKenna Cup campaign.

Ironically, Malachy O'Rourke's Monaghan will provide the first round opposition for the Erne County on Wednesday, January 3.
