Dublin make it easy for McGeeney

October 21, 2006
Croke Park issued a statement last night (Friday) to confirm that Dublin County Board has decided not to stage its rescheduled SFC semi-final between Na Fianna and St. Vincent's on October 27th, the day before the first International Rules test. The decision will come as a big relief to Ireland captain Kieran McGeeney who is due to line out against Australia and who is a key member of the Na Fianna squad. The Dublin GAC made the decision to ensure that McGeeney's preparations as Irish captain were not interfered with. "The Games Administration Committee of the Dublin County Board took its decision to ensure that Kieran McGeeney's preparations for the International Rules test will not be interfered with," said a statement released by Croke Park.
