Dublin's Niall Crossan NAME: Niall Crossan DATE OF BIRTH: 21-4-78 HEIGHT: 5' 10" WEIGHT: 11st CLUB: Erins Isle COUNTY: Dublin NOTABLE SPORTING ACHIEVEMENTS (GAELIC): Played Dublin Minor 1996; Under 21 1997 and this year 1998; I won Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 Colleges medals with my school, St Davids, Artane and of course this year, county and Leinster club medals INTERCOUNTY DEBUT: Dublin Minor versus Kildare 1996 TOUGHEST OPPONENT: I'd have to say JJ O'Keeffe and Mugger, our full backs in Erins Isle, they are super footballers with speed and strength. (I'll never hear the end of this!!) FAVOURITE GROUNDS: Parnell Park HOBBIES: Relaxing in front of tv, going to the cinema FAVOURITE POSITION: I always played half forward until this year. But I enjoy playing corner forward now FAVOURITE PLAYERS: Peter Canavan, Mickey Linden and of course, Maurice Fitzgerald INFLUENCES ON YOUR CAREER: My dad, Brendan, Martin Nolan, my trainer at juvenile level, and the brilliant Brian Talty, my PE coach in St Davids, Artane THE HIGH POINT OF YOUR CAREER TO DATE: Winning the county final and Leinster Final with Erins Isle. Scoring the winning goal against Kildare at minor in the Leinster Championship BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Losing to Laois in the Leinster Minor Final replay in 1996 OTHER PLAYERS WITH A PROMISING FUTURE: Peadar Andrews of St Brigids - a class defender; Gary O'Connell, my team mate in Erins Isle WAYS OF IMPROVING THE GAME: Keeping the new rules used in the O'Byrne Cup as far away as possible!! DISLIKES ABOUT THE GAA: Physical training during the winter months. I hate it, but at the end of the day, it's worth it DO YOU HAVE ANY RELATIVES INVOLVED IN GAELIC GAMES: My dad has always been involved in GAA and loves going to watch matches of any age level PERSON YOU WOULD MOST LIKE TO MEET: I always would have loved to meet Princess Diana, a beautiful woman who gave he all for those who needed her FAVOURITE PERSONAL SAYING OR TERM OF ABUSE: 'Yes I will' It's along story, it started in college PET HATES: Bad referees, people who think they know everything about football FAVOURITE FILM: I saw Titanic, it's excellent FAVOURITE MUSIC: I like all chart music IDEAL DATE: God, there are so many?!
