St. Vincent's (Dublin) 0-16
Palatine (Carlow) 0-8

St. Vincent's overcame the black card dismissal of Diarmuid Connolly to record a double-scores victory over Palatine at Netwatch Cullen Park.

The newly-crowned Dublin All Star was given his marching orders in the 20th minute following an off-the-ball incident involving Shane O'Neill, who was issued with a yellow card. The All-Ireland favourites, who roared into a 0-4 to 0-0 lead inside the first five minutes, only led by two points at the break before eventually pulling away from their plucky Carlow opponents thanks to five unanswered points between the 41st and 49th minutes.

Man of the match Cormac Diamond scored three points in the first half as the visitors exerted early dominance. O'Neill opened Palatine's account in the fifth minute and further scores from the wing forward and Jamie Kenny left the locals trailing by 0-3 to 0-5 at the interval.

The Marino men, who were guilty of racking up eight first half wides, finally found their groove midway through the second period when a flurry of unanswered points put the result beyond doubt with Mossy Quinn and Diamond each finishing with five points to the credit, and Albert Martin and Kevin Golden impressing off the bench.
