Skelly: Dubs put bums on seats
May 15, 2013

Former Leinster chairman Martin Skelly.
Leinster chairman Martin Skelly has admitted that Dublin's supporter base means fixture-makers will not consider fixing Jim Gavin's men for anywhere other than Croke Park.
The last time the Dubs played outside of GAA headquarters in the Leinster SFC was in 2006 when they travelled to Pearse Park to take on Longford.
This year their game against the winners of Westmeath versus Carlow features on the same double-bill as Kildare and Offaly on Saturday, June 1.
With Dublin championship attendances easily surpassing the 20,000 mark, Skelly says they have no other option but to fix their games for Croke Park.
"Obviously the bigger games will always be played in Croke Park," Skelly explained to the Irish Daily Star.
"The provincial venue is not ideal for games where we'd be expecting more than 20,000 and that's where we need to utilise Croke Park."
