Gavin named Philips Sports Manager of the Month

Dublin football manager Jim Gavin with his Sports Manager of the Month Award.
On the 28th April his Dublin side beat Tyrone by just one point to collect the Division 1 Football League title in a close encounter in Croke Park. This is the first League title that the county has won in 20 years. Although coming close in 1999 and again in 2011 it took a replay to beat Donegal in 1993. Ironically Jim Gavin himself played at wing forward in that replay.
Prior to his appointment to the Senior team in 2012, he has successfully managed the Under 21 Dublin side winning both Leinster and All Ireland titles. Tweet
