Finn McGarry sent over an injury-time winning point as holders Ballyboden St Enda’s scraped over the challenge of Lucan Sarsfields in the opening round of the Dublin SHC at Parnell Park today.
McGarry’s strike earned a minimum margin 1-15 to 1-14 for the holders.
Meanwhile, Ronan Hayes salvaged a draw for last year’s defeated finalists Kilmacud Crokes with a stoppage time goal against Na Fianna.
Anthony Daly’s Crokes were relieved to come away with a share of the spoils after the teams finished deadlocked on 1-16 apiece.
Sean Currie had given Na Fianna the perfect start with a goal in the 6th minute but they were caught on the line.
