The Late Gerry McGlennon It is with regret that we record the death of Mr Gerry McGlennon, of Cushowen Place, Drumaness on 27th July. Aged 73 and a retired builders' labourer, Mr McGlennon passed away at the Wood Lodge Nursing Home, Castlewellan. A single man, he is survived by his sisters Ethna McGiveran, Angela Carville, Ita Megoran (all Drumaness), and brothers Noel (America) and Tom (Crossgar). He was predeceased by his sister Moya Toner and brother Seamus (both Drumsnade). Gerry spent most of his young days in England, where he worked in a car components factory. When he returned home he was employed by local building companies. Gerry became involved in the local football clubs, where he was a former chairman of St Colman's GAC, Drumaness and later was a committee member of Drumaness Mills FC. The funeral service on 29th July was to Christ the King Church, with interment in St. Patricks Cemetary, Ballynahinch. Fr D. Loughran officiated. Courtesy of the Mourne Observer, August 2004.
